I just encountered this problem (late 2024), but only when using my battery grip. I found that cleaning the 13 little pins on the top part of the grip, as well as their contact points inside the camera's battery compartment using a pencil eraser fixed it for me. Hopefully this will help someone in the future. Edit to add: After letting the camera sit for a few hours, the "unable to communicate with batter" error returned. It occurred to me to check the CR1616 button battery which was 100% dead. Replaced that and it's back to normal (again). Don't forget to check your button batteries folks. Thanks for the vid! Saving for later in case the problems pops back up.
This one was about as close as Ive ever been. It was very relaxed eagle ray. Had another similar encounter last week here in Cozumel too. I saw an eagle ray sleeping a few years ago in the sand at Columbia, got a good video of that. Amazing animals to see
Very interesting ! I have the same trouble with a Canon 80D. I would like to open it but even with a screwdriver PH000, i can't turn the screws. What size of screwdriver do you use ?
Run away. They will not refund you if you don't see a whale. They will lie and say you did just to keep your money. These animals are going extinct they told me themselves and every trip is harder and harder. RUN far away if you want to not get ripped off like me
Run this place is an absolutely scam there are other excursions that deserve your money they will not show you anything but dolphins and claim your 100% guaranteed to try again another time but never get a refund what a joke. RUNNNNNNNN FAR AWAY
Hahaha. There has been many hammerhead sightings here. Come in the winter time and see for yourself. I jumped into 10 feet of water right beside a great hammerhead in palancar gardens two years ago. Mantas are rare here but have been sighted. It's a big ocean in Cozumel. Maybe ask you dive operator if there is hammerheads here....
Hi. I'm wondering how long will the button switch last. I have a pair of cheap video lights before, the one with two buttons. They are powerful, but after a couple dives, the water gets into the button switch which make them stuck. Now only one survive but seems to work fine no issue what so ever.
I was reviewing footage and it just shut off. Then I did this and the screw was out. I never got a cannot connect to batter. Aa soon as it happened it was totally off.
Hi, i was looking for budget video lights, I read in the description that you have used more serious video lights in the past, what do you think of this cheap light? Do you think it has a 6000 lumen output? Do you think the CRI index is 90 as they say? Did you keep using it and does it still work? Sorry for all the questions but it's a big decision for me, to either invest in more expensive lights or 400$ for this shady light with the risk of needing a replacement after 6 months (so having wasted 400$)
Hello. I have lights that are $1000 and these cheap ones are comparable. The only difference being , no remote which does mean less burn time on them. Im getting around 50 to 55 minutes burn time on these but am turning them on low power when I am not shooting. The lights cost around $120 with batteries so pretty good deal. I just ordered some 36amp batteries for them ( $100) so should have better burn times. If you are visiting Cozumel , you can try them.
Strange thing,I get that message with one battery. Take it out,put in another fully charged battery and it reads it(how much power it has) like nothing is wrong.
Good video, nice and concise. It was pretty difficult to get the bottom off, and once it was off I could see that the screw was missing but couldn't find it. After banging the camera around though it eventually dropped out. The only suggestion I would add is that it seems JIS screws were used, not phillips. One of the side screws was a bear to get out using a phillips screwdriver and I believe a JIS screwdriver would have made the job much easier.
I've just sorted my Canon 7d following your instructions, the screw was missing from its proper location and was jammed down in the 'guts' of the camera, no doubt its location down there was giving me intermittent 'battery communication error' all back in its proper place now and the camera is working fine, thank you so much
My father gave me his old 7D to learn photography and this issue came up. Your video was in the first to come up when I searched it. This was the exact problem! Thank you…8 years after you made this!
