Welcome to The Weird Bible, where we talk about all the cool stuff your congregation didn't get to cover. Join Aidan and Isaiah as they break down the many mentions of Prophecies, Hell, Miracles, and much more.
This channel is a joint venture by The Lore Lodge and Wendigoon.
Rewatching this and find it crazy how many modern examples there are of people testing God and getting some deserved comeuppance. Great example is the wide scale black out that happened after the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony where they made a mockery of the last supper.
Was baptized today. Started watching this podcast earlier in the year, and y’all opened my heart to God in a way that years of studying philosophy couldn’t. Thank you for sharing the word of God and staying true to yourselves and your faith.
1:39:19 Aiden's explanation at least addresses the existence of the women Cain & Abel end up marrying. The literal interpretation Wemdigoon seems to lean toward makes their existence problematic, at best (sisters?), and the presence of others not born of Adam & Eve, well...that story is just a missing book. (The "practice" beings before A&E.) Edited to Add: I've traveled to both ends of the belief scale & back several times; as I grow older, I've settled into agnostic: not a believer but willing to entertain the idea of a Supreme Being given more context & supporting proof. But I can definitely appreciate the Bible as literature & have read huge swaths of it for comparative literature & comparative religion classes. As such, the multitudinous 1:49:14 discrepancies make it hard to believe. I take nothing on "faith" given its multilingual, multiculture, multiple translations - and there are terms that do not have direct translations, so it's faith in a human, who interprets it how they decide it means. (Don't even get me started on the apocryphal books - some that started out as part of the official narrative but removed... others just dismissed entirely. Yeah, human men made that decision & I'm not convinced of their intentions.) I've heard even Catholic scholars say it's not meant to be z text book, not meant to be taken literally, but used instead as a guidebook, or self- help treatise. For those who are believers, well, I wish more would follow what Wendi kinda rushed over - that the NT is the book to follow for Christians. More of them should take to heart that Jesus commanded us to love. But yeah, I agree with Aiden in that it's a gripping, entertaining read with fascinating characters. I'd go so far to say that, to an unbeliever, the Bible is the Fantasy Fiction all other fantasy novels try to imitate.
hearing isaiah talk about anything biblical has connected with me and made me feel closer to God than any sermon from any preacher aside from the night i was saved im so thankful that someone with such passion has the platform that he does because he is the best representation that i’ve seen of what i feel a christian should be
This probably won't get seen because this video is so old but God could have met (when He said "...in Our imagine") the three parts of Him. God the Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost. Three in one, one in three.
What happen to the field?!! Where's Carl?!? *Carl up in the watch tower rocking back and forth, surrounded by broken tablets and crinkled scrolls* "I Didn't Know What To Do.!.!"
So, I know that this is not a new episode, but I recently started watching the podcast. I felt the need to say that the closest phonetic pronounciation to the hebrew of Babel is, unfortunately, something along the lines of bawbel. And I hate it. But this seemed like the perfect place to mention this. Lol
1:46:55 fair, as a Mormon myself, almost all disagreements others have with our beliefs are understandable to a point. I just want to say first and foremost, we believe the Bible to be true as long as it is translated correctly. Joseph Smith, our founding prophet, was told that the King James Version (which was popular in sects around him) was the most true at that time. The JST and the book it’s contained in “The pearl of great price” we believe to be set parts of scripture that have been lost and were given to Joseph smith. Thanks for the fair representation Aiden and Wendi! I love yalls stuff!
Joseph Johnson I’m hope you’re doing well brother . We’re sorry for your loss, praying for you and your family. Ma God hold you and comfort you all your days in Jesus name. 🙏🏼 ❤️🩹
Wondering if this could be an episode for Weird Bible at some point- binging through 1-2 Kings, noticing in 2nd kings 22ish, Josiah's tragic reign as king in Judah. Is there a positive message to be spoken of the king that desperately tried to serve the Lord in spite of the Doom proclaimed over them By God due to Manasseh? It seems fairly relevant to modern times that in spite of a fallen world Christians are called to serve unto death the God (Jesus) who has proclaimed doom to the world and salavation to His remnent.
@TheWeirdBible if there were angels put in place over country's why wouldn't they spread the word of God instead of taking the place of foreign gods? Something seems off there to me. I appreciate all your videos buy believe these are the most important you could do. Thank you
In two months please do an episode about Jesus’s birth, because I know this is a very basic request and nothing close to a “Ezekiel prophecies episode” or anything like that but it would make my holidays amazing this year and it would be interesting hearing Aiden go over the misconceptions of the wisemen being there at the birth of Jesus even though it historically makes more sense for them to have showed up like two years later, and it’s also a good time for Aiden to explain why Christmas isn’t pagan
Hey guys, so, to clarify the point at 1:46:18, Jehovah's Witnesses do not alter the bible in any way. We use the New World Translation, which is a translation of the scriptures into modern, digestable language that makes it easier to understand to the common person. Note that it's a "translation" and not a "version," though we do also reference other versions of the bible, often for comparisons sake. Great show as always, keep up the good work!
Wondering if the point of the sons of sceva was that the idiots attempting things beyond their ability were going to bring embarrassment upon the christians- and Satan seized upon the opportunity to do so because he drove some away from Christ
This might be a bit late, but I do have a story to share with either the Lore Lodge boys and/or Wendi about the time my family shared a house with the devil. It's a true story that ive been working on, collecting the testimonials from each family member and *trying* to write it in a (hopefully) timeline accurate way. If either of you guys would be interested, I can absolutely share it with you verbally or send it over. Thanks guys, and God bless your day :)
Binged through the playlist of all the weird bible episodes over the course of a day- This one. This was the one that broke me. "Rabboni" just opened the floodgates on my eyes, just AHH, good job, Wendigoon, lol
I mean I get that he’s trying to be honest and explain the situation as it was, but fema taking so long to get there that private citizens had already resolved most of the high risk cases, while great for the people is not a good look on fema. Katrina was a nationwide permanent black spot on fema for taking 3 days for government aid to arrive and this took 5. Like Isaiah you as a private citizen who was there to document got there at roughly the same time as the government agency with billions at its disposal and trained personnel for exactly this.
I seem to remember reading/hearing somewhere that the Greek word Daemon wasn't actually attributed to good or evil entities originally but was more just a general term for any spiritual entity who was sort of like a god but lesser than that
One interesting fictional depiction I always kinda liked was Dungeons and Dragons' version of them, where since you don't just have good and evil as character markers, but you also have forces of chaos and order, they would then separate demons from devils. In DnD demons are the more chaotic bestial monstrous types of the orders of hell and devils are much more orderly to a fault where they have a ton of rules and bureaucracy to go through - hence the contractual "deal with the devil"
