I'm studying Spencerian from Mr. Sull's books and it's very helpful to see him write in real-time. It's heartening to see that even a master penman sometimes hunches over his work and uses finger movements, and that re-touching is allowed.

Well Done! I apologize I'm late to the party, but if you/your viewers ever find yourself in Massachusetts, check out the Museum of Printing in Haverhill MA, they have all sorts of type, presses, casting machines, even computer and phototypesetting. Basically everything you mentioned in the video, the museum has an example. The museum also has an extensive library of books about books, publishing and printing. There are hundreds of books all devoted to alphabets, writing, and typographic design. And if you get the chance, check out the Printing Office of Edes & Gill in Boston, re-creating an 18th century printing office, where Revolutionary documents are replicated and printed on the same kinds of equipment and type as used in the period.

In its written form, English is. a 'left to right' language. Urdu, Persian and ARabic , on the other hand , are written 'Right to Left'. And most people are right handed. And if you check calligraphy in ARabic and Persian and Urdu, you will find the most beautiful art- most of them written by right handed people. so being left handed should not be an issue. :-)

Perhaps you should attend The Spencerian Saga, a week long Spencerian Workshop held in Geneva On The Lake, Ohio during the month of October. The second (Advanced) seminar is in progress this week. The year 2017 will probably be celebrating the Saga's 30th anniversary (established in 1986). Although Mr. Sull no longer instructs the workshop, it is likely he will attend the event at some point. He is a very generous individual, who would probably be willing to make name cards for all attending. The man is gifted as well with his font of information concerning those Penmen of days gone by.
