"4 inches of skin"....good grief. Prove that, please. Otherwise, it's totally made up nonsense that people really should stop claiming. Fackler shot his pig with skin on it, so 2 layers of skin....it went the same distance in & out and through the ~5" of pig as it did in gel only. It didn't come up 8 inches shorter because of that kevlar reinforced rubber skin.
Honest question. Would this ammo work in a SNS? Like one of those zymak alloy pot metal guns that only require FMJ to fuction properly. Serious question here..
Looking at your 10mm vs. Buffalo bore 10mm Outdoorsmans as my 10mm carry when out in the woods. What I want to know has your 10mm show it can take down EXTREMELY BIG game. Like brown bears and BIG MOOSE?
First of all how can you say there is 4" of skin on two legged predators? Second, we LEO'S really have to worry about over penetration. After watching these vids every single test Fort Scott rnds exited the test block 100% of the time. Can't you design a rnd that meets the required minimum FBI penetration but remains within the test block?
There's always federal fusion/gold dot bonded soft points. As for applications for fort scott's round... i'm thinking extreme long range/low velocity barrier blind performance. From what I could gather from numerous tests so far, this round can still go through light cover, and do backflips in a target at velocities lower than expansion/fragmentation thresholds of SMKs, TMKs, soft points, and barnes hollowpoints. Extremely niche, but this round at least looks like it could theoretically stretch the legs of long range 5.56 "SPR" builds by maintaining terminal effect through light barriers and longer ranges. Probably would have been preferable to mk262 through the gwot in the combat zone.
The "4" of skin" ridiculous mumbo-jumbo is easily the most nonsensical claim I've ever heard in regards to terminal ballistics testing. Absurd. Like what is skin made of? Rubber-Kevlar? good grief. Fackler shot a pig with the skin still on and it showed that penetration is 1:1 ration with his gel formulation. And that went through 2 layers of pig skin (in & out). I might have to actually disprove this joke myself. So sick of seeing people burp it out over & over, with nobody actually demonstrating it, whatsoever.
Normally if I had to guess I would say 308 or some other larger 30 cal, however it sounded too quiet for that. Personally I think it was 30-30 based on the sound and how fast the bear dropped
I mean I have your 556 62 grain Brass hog and I bought it specifically so it doesn't break apart but punches through super deep, but for 458 that's just not an impressive one cavity correct me if I'm wrong I know your company is all about the tumbling upon impact would love to see you guys make like three wing projectiles and hollow points and other things
That is a horrible defensive carry round ! Lawsuit waiting to happen.. extreme overpenetration ! Maybe a good end of the world round but definitely dangerous for every day Carry
Huge flash out of my 2 inch Smith & Wesson snub nose. Shooting at indoor rage, I could not believe the big white flash which told me this would be not a good round for in the house at night. Accuracy was fairly good recoil was more than I thought it would be, but the flash was horrendous.
Good vid but why in the world didn't you use a suppressed SBR or pistol? This what most of us or operators would be using real world. Although yes I do realize some are using this round for EDC too.
Guys, I sincerely thank you for this video and I am deeply moved by the result of this gun! I want to confess to you that I own this gun and it is my first lethal bullet pistol, before that I had other types of guns! I participated in many shootings and with great care I chose this weapon, after many gropings and now I realize that I didn't do anything wrong! Thank you again and I have the utmost respect for all that you do! I am Romanian and in Romania I can tell you that I bought this gun for the equivalent of 600 Euros (655 dollars), so very cheap!
