Hey Newt, this was definitely a Great Video!! Loved your other Buddy there to get ya moving ahead. Had me laughin a few times🤣Your Awesome & looking forward to seeing the next one.
Hi Newt - you are hilarious ! HAAAA - sparkleators ! 'I don't think I want to mess with this - TOO LATE ! Ultrasonic cleaners are brilliant - I have 2 here - one with a heater and one without. I repair mechanical clocks and the parts come out like new 🙂. I'm not really into bikes, but I did have a Honda 50, like the one you have there, only mine was blue. I had it 53 years ago when I was 16, to get me to and from work, before I had my car licence - great bikes. Well done with what you achieved today - it's always fun to watch you and hear your natterings. Thanks for the entertainment Newt - you're a legend. Take care 🙂
I had one of those it was awesome bike it never missed a beat Mine had 64,000 miles on it when I sold it to a woman who bought it and drove it another 5 years and then she sold it man that was a great bikeHave a great day
I recall my younger brother always re-building or modifying the 780 duel feed Holly on his 390 'stang. You both have the same perseverance and determination. The only thing lacking is that you don't have a Marlboro hanging out of your mouth while you diagnose the leak in the carb. Thanks for the ride. Narragansett Bay
I would say none of that is ridiculous 😂You and your son are Genius's!!! Love seein ya both workin together. That dash looks perfect and your idea of how to fill the gap in is Perfect and it all looks so Awesome already!! Looking forward to seeing the complete finish ❤ Also that Willa the Killa makes a perfect picture to it all😅 I'm proud of ya both. Gavin is learning alot thru this and I'm sure he's loving it too!! Thanks for the Great video!!!
Hi Newt and son, seeing you with that knife, I was expecting to see a finger go flying off while trimming that dash top ! Brilliant idea with the expanding foam and the 2x4 wedges - the fine art of improvisation - you are a genius. All your nattering and explaining is so entertaining, so of course we'll be coming back time and time again to watch all your 'ridiculousness' ! Thanks Newt for all you post on here - it's fun all the way. Oh, maybe you could put some spray foam under those places that are 'squishy' on top - just a thought.? Take care Newt and Son. 🙂
Effing brilliant mate!!! I always wondered what the history of this vehicle type was, and being English myself, I was very surprised to learn that it was based on Austin UK motors. Very surprised to learn how popular it was in USA. Nice video and good luck with the projects you take on. Ignore those dead heads who just want to annoy you. They used to drive Cadillacs. Cheers from New Zealand have a lovely day :)
Made by Isuzu. I had one of these 1976 Luv trucks around 1980, but mine was orange with white camper shell. Handy little trucks but gutless, really bad in a hilly city like Seattle where I lived at the time. Wouldn't be bad as a spare vehicle for occasional duty for hauling stuff.
Hi Newt - your wiring of that fuel pump is great, but will be better once you've done it 'more righter' !!! HA - love it ! HAAAA - tape the wire to the exhaust pipe ! NEVER change Newt, you are a GEM 🙂. A BRILLIANT video, and how lucky are you to still have your parents around, and even your grandparents - what a treat. Your four generation photographs will no doubt take pride of place in your home. Thanks Newt for all you do - keep em coming ! Take care 🙂
This video is Truly Amazing!!! I loved every minute of it. Love how you got your family involved and that wife of your's never ceases to Amaze me!!! She puts her mind and heart into something and she gets her done 👍 She did Awesome!!! And workin with your Son was so neat to see. I'm sure he's hoping to learn Alot from you. Keep up the Good work & just gotta say too,Your The Best🎉❤
Remember doing brakes on a Met....trick I learned was when bleeding them, you need to collapse the wheel cylinder....push the pistons all the way in....then bleed that wheel....design flaw....the bleeder screw is lower than the brake hose, making it very hard to get air out of the wheel cylinder....almost always a soft pedal if bled normally......pressure bleeding helps too.
check each of the solenoids to make they get power only when they should, they are electrically function good, make sure they mechanically fully close and open as they should. Do this on your original ones and the used ones. if you get used ones, put one on at a time and see if there are changes in how it runs. One of the used ones may give you a new different (worse) problem. You seem to have the patience to deal with this form of insanity. :)
Your just Amazing!!! I'm so impressed with how tough this little Luv has been for you and you just keep working away on it!! Plus the Heat & flies are a Pain to deal with and yet you Keep On🎉 I know you can do this and I know you will. Looking forward to seeing what's next. Thanks for being able to joke around while getting frustrated at the same time!!! Proud of you💯
Also faulty fuel pump? Check/replace that to. A fuel pump, as you know, is like the heart of a vehicle in itself. Just as we all have a heart that pumps blood throughout out bodies, that's exactly what a fuel pump does in a vehicle, car or truck.
While that bed was taken off and standing upright, after yinz were presure washing it and along it to dry woukd have been a good time to spray paint black rust olem paint underneath the bed and on the underneath sides to help ward off rusting and corrosion. Then, painting the top portion of the chassis/frame part also would help to just the same to. Now in days, they have a paint on bed liner that you could also paint to preseeve the inside of the bed and keep it from being scrached and damaged to.
Beautiful looking little truck! Always loved the looks of these Chevy LUV trucks. Wish I could have gotten one of these when I was living in Murfreesboro Tennessee, I coukd have used a nice little truck like this for transportation.
Wish these little trucks were still being manufactured today 2024. Gas prices are way up to 5 dollars a gallon these days, these little trucks were good on gas, and ran beautifully.
I've been riding it to work and there are some pretty decent curves on the way. It's honestly not much different. I only lowered the back so it didn't lower the footboards much at all. If I lowered the front now it would make a bigger difference.
I bought it off of ebay years ago for $16 but it looks like they don't sell that one anymore. It was for 2000 to 2014 softails. I'm sure there are similar kits on Amazon and ebay.
Once again,an Awesome Job 💯 That was so Good to watch and see all you got accomplished !!🎉 Also all the stress and receding hairline is worth it!! (Altho,I have not noticed the receding hairline😊 Lookin forward to seeing it all finished and ready for Gavin to drive 👍
WELL DONE Newt - I knew you could do it, although I would have set fire to it hours ago ! I've had cars with silly problems like that and it really tests your patience, so just walk away and come back tomorrow and try something else. It's a great feeling when you hit that EUREKA moment though. I repair mechanical clocks as a hobby, and sometimes it's such a minute adjustment that makes all the difference. Anyway, thanks for sharing all your frustration with us - as always it's fun to hear you chatting away, knowing we are all shouting back at you. Thanks for the entertainment Newt - it's fun. Take care 🙂
Thank you! I was stressing because I knew I couldn't just keep posting videos doing the exact same things over and over forever 🤣. We aren't done though, we still have to make sure it runs good with all the emissions equipment hooked up. Thanks for the support!
