Excellent stuff. For me, it’s the new Kraftur (gets me loud with very little artifacts), the Softube Bus Processor (SSL+), and the Pulsar 8200 EQ for channel duties. Between the three of them, I can do a lot of damage, haha. Spectre is something I’ve been looking at. Very intriguing.
"The majority of producers are working from a laptop" ... I highly doubt this. I'd think most producers have kind of a studio with synths, recording gear, mixer etc. so a powerful computer and one or more big monitors make much more sense.
It's so handy being able to see your thoughts and feedback about each song. It really helps new (and not so new) producers get inside the mind of a world-class producer like yourself. Please keep this series going!
An absolute goldmine for new producers. There's nothing better than looking over the shoulder of someone who does this day in, day out, and listen to their process, instruments, plugins and samples. Please make more videos like this! 🙏🙏😁
You did a great job explaining concisely the many steps and effects you used and why you used them. I realize video was focused on the auto tune alone, but I’ll look for other videos where you explain what is wrong with what you’re hearing, which tools you are selecting to address those issues, and how those tools work. But again this video is great in its own right.
Huge thanks to Fabio and the entire Boombox team for reviewing my unreleased track “Let You Go” (example 8) Feedback during these sessions are extremely valuable🙌
Chroma Glow is very cpu heavy, one of those to use sparingly. It takes close to 15% on all cores for one instance. Other than than older projects still perform very well on my M1 pro MacBook Pro
Hi London, Can you do a video showing how to do a Stutter Effect using the Logic pro Arpeggiator but using Hz/ms instead of Beat? In Ableton you can easily change SYNC to FREE and use the ms to smoothly change the rate which is great for automation to cool effects. Unfortunately in Logic you can't do the same unless you know a workaround for this, Thanks!
Yeah unfortunately there is no free mode in Logic's arp. I sent them a feature request about this. It'd be great to be able to do continuous automation of the rate.
the only workaround I've found is or using Logic's Phat FX > LFO 1 and assign it affect the filter cutoff or volume, or using the midi FX modulator and assign it to volume of synth as well, if it's an audio file, then only the first workaround works, there is a tutorial on YT.
I think it’s important to note we’re getting updates every 6 months give or take two weeks since the iPad came out with sub. I expect this to remain the trend. I hope they give piano roll improvements looking at Ableton (better multi track editing please) also we need automation shapes and skew. Being able to skew a filter sweep is awesome. I can do it slowly in logic with option tooling the pen with automation but meh so much quicker with a skew and shape. Chroma glow is phat I feel like this is def the camel dev
great video! All nice and cool with this modern ai features but why not updating essential things like the mixer, eq with dynamics, plugin search and the library browser.
