You did a great job explaining concisely the many steps and effects you used and why you used them. I realize video was focused on the auto tune alone, but I’ll look for other videos where you explain what is wrong with what you’re hearing, which tools you are selecting to address those issues, and how those tools work. But again this video is great in its own right.
The Logic one did a great job with the tuning, but I notice it because it has a very slightly muffled sound. The Antares is just a bit clearer on the high end. But nothing that a simple eq move can't fix... So A. is Antares and B. Logic
@@watchboombox I really love how you used the eq at the top of the chain with some de-essing and then the proMB. Lately I’ve been eqing and boosting more top end at the top and I’ve noticed it’s way easier to get a clean pop vocal doing this. It was funny because I did this and had the realisation of how quickly I was able to get a vocal sound, then stumbled on your video and was like, “he did that too”. Defs what I’m going to be doing from now. Love the effect sends too. They sound lush!
Great topic. 👍 Kinda lost the focus on Logic, when you start with FabFilter EQ tools instead of the Logic channel EQ. What are you saying here? Pre-process your vocal with $399 of 3rd party plugins before you use the free included Logic Pitch Correction, instead of the $299 Antares Auto-tune? What? Huh?
