The 3D scan of the interior of your car is an awesome tool and it will allow you to do a great main hoop and forward laterals. I was hoping to learn how to do forward laterals without the laser scan from your video
good stuff I think the cable connected only on one side is wobbly without any additional cross angle bracing but if you’ll twist the drill clutch tight around your bit then one click back it locks in place I think you tightened it a few times on the second mounting but could be wrong thanks for a cool video
Currently trying to relocate some seat mounts in an old Honda. Every time I try to mig weld I keep blowing through the metal. What settings did you use when you welded this?
Building the cage yourself is crazy unless you are already into welding. All the rally guys will tell you to buy a car with a cage and logbook or you'll quickly put 40k into a 4k car. Amazing work though man living the dream while I rallycross a Corolla lol.
Great job! I was thinking I would be able to follow till you walked over to your cnc plasma cutter and metal brake. LOL Your tools are a level above what I have to work with. :)
I remember watching this basically when it got uploaded when it was getting built and i lost this channel idk how but just recently refound it now picking back up where i was
I also have a 350z and I want to modify it to make it a rally car and I need to decide which coilovers I should use, which one do you recommend? (I don't have a very high budget) I want to drive it on dirt and gravel, nothing special
The way your co driver looked at the trees when you lost it is kinda scary, I've never been in a rally car (I'd love to lol) but I'm guessing it must be really scary realizing that you lost control and seeing a tree approaching at 90mph, I'm glad you guys are safe!
Yeah with the trans in the car it's really difficult to get the pin out. You could possible disconnect the trans mount and put a jack below it and you may get enough flex in the motor mounts to get at the roll pin a bit better
Man that's alot to cut out! I'll be doing the same with my 370z this year so be watching what you get up to and buying a plasma haha. Do the 350z brakes clear 15" wheels? 370z don't fit I'll see if I can clearance them a little to fit as it's close but otherwise going to have to look at fitting something else to it
Definitely worth it for a plasma cutter if you have to hack apart the car and yeah the stock Z brakes on the 350 clear 15" wheels. I had to remove a unused bracket on the knuckle, but aside from that it didn't need anything else. Good luck with the 370!
bro you need to put more energy and less word into this, the intro alone made me loose focus. Im watching the video today but clicked it yesterday. if you greeted with some energy and said "today we will cut out body panels to make the car lighter" and just got to work, cool, I would have watched. the energy in the beginning can be really simple...essentially just dont talk flat :D maybe sprinkle in some simple, small exitment like "we'll see how that goes". thats it idubbbz is IMO very good at this. dud had a table and some stuff on it and gained x millioin subscribers. another good exmaple is harald baldr he makes travel videos, which can be incredibly boring, but he tries and does little things to make is interesting and that really makes the difference. this is a shor attention span, quick dopmain fix kinda thing after all and not a presentation. little adjustment is neccessary. otherwise i appreciate the format that you show almost every step, then little talk after every step like what was difficult, etc...I dont watch the cleetus mcfarland stuff anymore because its too much any energy and too little words, you barely know whats going on anymore lol. I also dont watch speed academy anymore because, boy do they talk a lot, boring as fuck, could be a very cool channel but they just dont get it. EDIT: holy shit just checked speed academy and they changed their shit, 640k subs now and sponsored by continental. no more lengthy talk intros, they give it some enegery, they even do a "coming up"...wow....time to resub... EDIT 2: who also does a great jon is mat armstrong who rebuilds cars. ok the subject otself is kinda exciting already but he also manages to show everything and keep it entertanining, shows some energy and yeah...dont know in detail how he does it but i watched hours of his stuff
I’m gonna need a TLDR lol On a serious note, I know the videos could use more work but I’m not interested in making videos that appeal to the short attention span crowd. Thanks for the suggestions though, I’ll keep them in mind.
Look's like you had loads of fun. I don't know how many times I've said... "I'm never going to do this again. Next time I'll pay someone" As well as next time it's going on a rotisserie, Now you get to do the good stuff like weld seam sealer, and zinc... 12kg's ( 25 pounds )
Lol yep every time, there just something about paying someone to do something that you can do in just a few short 15 hour days with an angle grinder. Your guess is pretty much spot on, it was 23.4 lbs.
