Tackling some of my storage and space saving needs in my garage with a new massive 8'x24' loft mezzanine in my shop. This is definitely a game changer with being able to utilize the wasted overhead space.
This was a lot of fun making it, luckily I had some help from my parents and wife to make the process much easier.
I had an issue with the first upload, hopefully this fixes it.

Nice solid build, good investment, and the right time to do it before you get to far into other stuff, fairly cheep for what you got. I know so many guys that are building stuff in half finished sheds, on a make do basis, that never get round to finishing anything...I like the fold away stairs you did. After nearly 10 months of unnecessary red tape, and bureaucracy, we finally got our gravel rally car registered ( with many restrictions about where and how we can use it ). My son is going to do a navigators course with Riana G at the end of next month...We were talking about doing a channel, but we shot some footage when we were out for a "test drive" the other day and weren't happy with the footage.

Thanks, the loft definitely made a huge difference in the shop. I wouldn’t have any room to get work done in the shop without it. That’s awesome you guys got it done, any plans for the first event. Rhianon and Alex are great at what they do, he’ll definitely learn a lot and be way more prepared for an event than I was lol.

@@DirtyGarage Thanks. We got the car registered on Tuesday, went out "testing " Tue, Wed, Thurs, just to see if anything rubbed or fell of. Hill climb Saturday. second in his class. There was a turbo intercooled Civic that turned up so they put that in our class. So he wasn't going to have look in there, but the car came home in the same shape as it left. It was raining heavy Friday and Saturday, did scrutineering in the snow, and hail during the event The car's back in the shed, I'm building a Kevlar sump guard for it. Rally sprint in 3 weeks, the road's pretty rough.

question: how do u figure out the max weight limit for the loft when done?

You can look up span calculators to figure out your live and dead loads based on what you used to build it, which should technically happen before building to ensure that you're using the right materials.

I built it when wood prices were fairly cheap, I believe it was 1,600 and it took around two weeks to get done completely.
