Wikipedia- Latin America then comprises all of the countries in the Americas that were once part of the Spanish, Portuguese, and French Empires. Puerto Rico, although not a sovereign nation, is often included.
It really all depends on where you live. To me the highest costs are food & fuel (which are about the same as the US) and the reasonable costs are services, many real estate options and education.
"International Living" so what immigration documentation did you need to enter Puerto Rico? Moving from Illinois to Puerto Rico is a domestic move just like it was when you moved to Florida. These titles are what causes so much confusion when we visit the mainland and are asked for our passports or even a green card.
@@PrinciplesofIncreaseTV - Correction, it is not a territory, it is a Commonwealth Association with the U.S. The word "territory" has been utilized by local political parties to satisfy their craze manipulative agenda. Don't pay attention to those members of Congress that can't even draw a map of their own State. Es un "Estado Libre Asociado," a los Estados Unidos. Anyone born in Puerto Rico, is a born citizen of the United States; no passport needed. We are not immigrants,, nor refugees when living or traveling to the Continental U.S.A.
Medicare and ebt and other services. And some that are on ssi ssdi would need to consider that as well. And being on a fixed income as a senior on just social security i think.
I would love to stay in a us territory and have it be affordable. I have also looked into it. Unfortunately its probably not possible from your responses.
Thank you for the video. I am active Air Force wanting to go to college in PR, as a non Spanish speaker would you have any recommendations in regards to trying to buy there?
Thank you for your service! My daughter is in school here with what I would consider an advanced beginner, almost intermediate level of Spanish. Also, classes are very "softball", so they are not super rigorous, and professors are very lenient... The prices are super low, and you'll likely be fluent in 6-9 months. There are 11 campuses to choose from. It will be challenging but it's very possible.
@@PrinciplesofIncreaseTVby chance could you provide us with those campus names ? I’m also active duty army and plan on moving to the island by the end of this year God willing
Thank you for the info. Would’ve loved to hear average $ amounts for the food so I can compare it to the cost of food in my area. The cost of living varies across the US.
Knowing Spanish helps, but it's not absolutely necessary. If you live in areas like San Juan, Rincon, Palmas del Mar, you'll be fine with just English.
Here, we admire people who could speak two or more languages fluently. Class system is silently abundant, but its a "no, no" to talk about it. Speaking Spanish or English clearly can easily identify your level of education, etc. Sorry for being frank, been living here for over 50 years, and know a little about this beautiful Island and its people.
Good information. I will drive for dollars all day on the island.. lol..I also heard from a person who goes back and forth from the island of walking into the area city hall or calling and asking them if they have any properties for sale. I'm not sure how true that is. It's worth a shot.
Just spent 4 months, and all I saw were starving animals! So many cats dying. And abandoned dogs running all over the place! Shame on you P Rico! It’s a s(:t hole
We'd love to meet you someday! Fam of multicultural 6, devout believers, left the missions field during covid...looking for a new home. Life is messy. Your positivity and "stiff upper lip" is encouraging and magnetic!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience! Fam and I looking at moving there later this year. Dropping everything in Oregon (cold rain) and moving South!
