The Native American people have been given a raw deal. Most of them were given land that is beyond worthless. Some of the tribes in eastern Oklahoma were given better land but the Navajo tribe was given worthless land. It’s amazing how the Navajo people survived on such worthless land.

Depends on the person who is friends with them and can talk to them , they are apart of mesh next to other wild/domestic animals , when the neighborhood dogs were howling during the siren i knew someone passed ,.. i would stand up with them while laying my cig on the ground , ( they know when people have died , instantly) have mesh with wildlife , feed these magpies one dead deer and they follow everywhere 😂

This movie showcased the beautiful humor of the Dine' and border tribes. I love it from the First Laugh to the constant giggles of the Aunties. I love my Dine' friends.

A bit cheesy but nice. I liked the humor. Very American though. Galician/Spanish woman here speaking from my perspective. The music sorta teenage/high school stuff (that's what I mean by very American I suppose) except the Powwow show (probably the truly originally American thing). I did enjoy it. Like watching a Hallmark movie with a bit of a twist.I liked the characters and actors. The singing in Spanish OMG! hilarious! Also the white ladies speaking about their supposed Cherokee ancestry at the exact moment the main characters are hugging. XDDD

I have just recently had Cherokee fry bread - eastern band. Yes. I know. This does not end my quest. I really want a Navajo taco. I will have one when I get out west. I enjoyed this movie. So well done, well written. Kept me engaged every moment. Love Native movies. Respect!!!

Going be a frybread riot. Pretty good movie. Eaten frybread and yes it's good. Even if it's not the healthiest. Theirs a reason why obesity and diabetes is high a among them. Cooking with lard even if taste good, isn't the healthiest choice

Now they've found lard is better than canola, & other seed oils. Obviously fry bread eaten on special occasions is not going to kill you ( not filled with preservatives, corn syrup). What is terrible is drinking pop, eg. Pepsi, processed food, chips, etc

I was brought up in an abusive home The Navajo lady across the street took me and my sister in a bit here and there. She took me to the pow wow dances. I danced to the drums and the songs sung. It was one of the only times i felt calm and peaceful. She took us to her mom's house on the Rez....first time hearding sheep. No running water, no electricity. We took a bath in the horse trough and washed our hair with yucca root. I immediately shook the root bits out of my hair, thinking it looked like lice. She laughed and said, "it keeps your hair fresh!" That day I saw the lamb head on the grill, I learned to dunk the bread in the mutton. Later, she said it was going to rain. I asked, "How do you know?" She lifted her head and pointed to the sky with her nose and breathed in, "I can smell it, I can smell the rain." I wanted so badly to smell the rain. Today, I can. I'll never forget! And - outdoor showers are my fave!
