Hi guys my name is Ron Bond. You can call me Bondo. I built this channel to share my knowledge of construction. I have 35 years experience in the residential construction industry. I do a lot of videos on every aspect of doing concrete work. We pour floors do stamped concrete build house and garage foundations with Nudura ICF blocks. We also do most of our own excavation work. I have a Kubota back hoe Yanmar mini excavator and a mini Bobcat track loader as well as a tracked concrete buggy. Through the years I have developed many time saving tips and tricks that I would like to share with you. I live in Upstate New York so we don't do concrete in the winter much. During the winter I'm making videos on fixing up the houses that I buy to restore. I usually fix up a house every two years and then rent it out or sell it. I am an insulation junkie so I like making videos to teach people how to make their house more energy efficient.
Theres is three guarantees in comcrete work. It will get hard. , no one will steel it, and it will absoluetly crack Any one that says there concrete work does not shrink crack is a liar
Great video and appreciate all you do. I am trying to learn some tips and tricks. In regards to the wire mesh, It sounds like you are trying to lift it up so that I assume would be somewhere near the middle of the concrete as you pour. How do you keep it from getting pushed back down to the bottom as you walk on it during the leveling and screeding part?
The wet screed looks pretty efficient. The last time I had concrete poured, they drove rebar every so many feet and set the top of the rebar to the level of the concrete with the laser. Then when they passed that spot, they would drive the rebar down below the surface and then finish that spot.
These owner’s obviously never had anyone work for them before. This is normal type of work behavior. Nothing horrible. Tell em to take that stick out their bottom and relax. Fuuuuch.
won't the eaves and gutters extend past 12 foot if you are 12 foot 2 inches? i guess it depends on what part of the structure has to be 12 foot away, i also have been wondering if bigger rocks like 3" or even 5-6" were placed on the first level would that help to improve drainage? and when do you use plastic underneath and when don't you? and when can you use the wire and when do you use the rebar, I guess this depends on the plans and intended weight of use...
Man lucky you with all them guys helping you. My foundos and slabs haven't been maned up like that since about 2010 just last week I did 80x40 shop me another buddy and a labor it's my buisness and I'd feel guilty pulling out my phone to record a pour get that darn mud down and truck out of their lol
It really would have not looked bad you are a concrete contractor im sure you have poured lots of diamonds after slabs for iron buildings. your customer hired you for a job and if there's something he wants that he could not forsee because the professional thats you he hired you for your expertise and work to guide him through a project he hired you for and all i here is the finish of the slab and looks of it is more important to to you f the customers that will own the slab and pay me to do it its my way or.the highway you choose your ego and laziness over making your customer happy and giving yourself a good name and review over 10min of work while pouring out And one more day sending a minion to bring some bags of concrete and pour the damn blockouts for you negotiate and delegate that s*** be a business owner that cares for his work and customers that was literally the most saddest ass story I've ever heard in my life for getting in a fight with your customer
Im sorry for going off Stuff like that hits a nerve im 2nd generation and been finishing concrete for 25years running buisness for 10 and literally you could have done block outs or jointed yes you may not like the looks of it but it's not yours you are a professional that was hired so work with them and prevent yourself from getting screwed
Your jobs are growing huge interesting videos The do it all concrete crew looks like Expandable Poly Stirean to me nice work first time I've ever heard of ICF maybe modified EPS
