Generative ai won’t replace much of anything imo. He says it will because it’s a good line to push to get investment. It can’t tell you how many r’s there are in strawberries. It won’t replace artists because art is about the artist. Deep blue didn’t replace chess players because we care about human competition.
Unemployed white color workers won't be able to pay blue color workers for their jobs. If a white color worker needs a plumber for the toilet, and he cannot pay said plumber, and decided to go back to the days when the bathroom is an outhouse outside in the backyard, the plumber is also out of a job. Just saying.
Imagine going back showing them an iPhone with mid journey on it before electricity was invented. It be almost impossible for them to understand as if it's advanced alien technology. Now multiply that by the pace of acceleration of technology and you have the state of world in 100 years. We don't even have the basic building blocks of knowledge to know what it will be like.
It’s taking customer support and HR jobs that’s for sure. All the years of experience I have and now I can’t find work in those fields after being laid off at my last job. Seems my only options are Amazon warehouse or Uber eats. And let me tell you, being a packer at Amazon was destroying my mental health, but Uber doesn’t pay well and zero benefits 🤷🏻 Ive applied to over 200 jobs in the last year and have my resume listed on several job seeking sites and all I ever get are scammers and bots. Those job listings are fake and they sell your data to anyone. What are we to do when the work experience we have been built for the last decade is suddenly replaced and we are obsolete.
He’s amazing to watch and listen to. First time I saw him was another video today and he’s back in the feed! I like hearing from the creator of my favorite AI lol. ❤
From 95 to 2005 tech grew faster than ever before. From 2005 to 2015, again, faster growth than ever before. From 2015 to today, again, we've seen exponential growth. I dont want to imagine how fast tech will advance in the next 10 years. Youll have fully automated taxis that are cheap and always available, which sound great until they are so much better than human drivers that the bar to be able to get a drivers license is raised to that of getting a pilots license. Some 60-80% of service, transportation, and factory jobs will be phased out in favor of increasingly efficent automation. 85%-95% of office work will be made redundant from Ai. The way tech is going could lead to unemployment levels in the 50-60% range, without a dip in GDP. That's a very, very, very near possible future that could reign in a near Utopia or dystopia, pending on slight nuances of how it's handled. Think of the lifestyle change that was experienced before and after the Industrial Revolution, we are in the middle of an even greater lifestyle Revolution.
Self improving ai model coupled with nanites that can decomstruct and reconstruct themselves and other things is instant game over wether we are in control or not.
Styx: Give me a job, give me security Give me a chance to survive I'm just a poor soul in the unemployment line My God, I'm hardly alive My mother and father, my wife and my friends You see them laugh in my face But I've got the power, and I've got the will I'm not a charity case I'll take those long nights, impossible odds Keeping my eye in the keyhole If it takes all that to be just what I am Well, I'm gonna be a blue collar man
Who really thought blue collar jobs would be first? They are really labor intensive and the capital investment in robotics is insane. It is much cheaper to have AI go after white collar jobs that are desk jobs. I don't totally agree about the creative jobs, I think it depends on which ones specifically (i.e. I dont see AI taking over floristry).
I like to see it this way: The invention of car has not made people completely stop walking. It has made going from part a to part b much faster but a lot of people still like to walk that distance. I think the same could be said about ai, it will just be an additional tool or advantage for us. I dont think it will replace programmers, artists and other jobs completely. They will definitely make it lot easier and be also used widely but wont replace humans completely. This to say when ai becomes as useful as cars though. I think ai is in the early ford model cars stage where they used to run at like 50 hp and people used to be shocked to see that, same with ai.
Manufacturing? For sure, but I don’t see IA doing plumbing or hvac just to name a few. Not until those stupid Tesla robots develop high levels of dexterity, or real world experience on non-repetitive tasks, and problem solving skills.
As a creative, I don't think that AI will take away all of the jobs of creatives. Some, yes. Others, definitely not. I think that art comes in many different forms, and I don't think that AI would be able to truly replicate what makes art interesting to people in the first place. Will it take many opportunities away? Yes. Can it truly ever replicate the human experience? No.
Is going to be a really long time before a robot can twist some wire caps, and do the plumbing on your toilet or under the sink. But hey ask that prpgeaming work from home bs while they fk around and spend that money those jobs go poof😂😂😂😂
I think the ultimate goal of AI would be to eliminate humans. It will see us as his biggest threat, and probably he will start to fight against the creator just as Adam & Eve did in the garden of Eden a very long time ago…. This technology if not controlled would do a lot of damage to the human race
India will start AI take over, they are the fastest growing economy, the best software and electrical engineers on the planet, and are in such a rush to prove this, they will cause the end of the world. FACTS…..if I’m wrong come tell me in 60 years.
