Hi! My name is Dana, my grandsons call me MiMi . I grew up in the country, but have lived in a small city for over 30 years. I brought my homemaking skills, cooking, baking, cake decorating, sewing and canning with me. Even a little gardening. One of my passions is pressure canning and canning SAFETY, showing you how fun and safe it is with a little knowledge and care of equipment. Come along with me as I try to keep the traditions alive and pass them on to my kids and grandsons!
@@heidijohnson7231 I’m not sure. Hercules candies uses starch too so that’s why I did it that way. They are still breakable and kinda soft so unfolding might be harder but I would give it a try….it may work just fine! Let me know if you do it! 💕
Thank you so much! I love Hercules videos and have wanted to try making my own cream candies since watching them! Is there a step 3 showing your method for covering them 😊
@@elizabethv4152 I just hand dipped them in tempered chocolate! But I could do another video showing that too, it is a lot like the Easter candy video as far as tempering but then just dipped however you want to do it. The candy cream centers are soooo yummy! 💕thank you for watching!
Hi Sandy! The pot I used on the stove is a 1.25 Qt David Burke Restaurateur pan. I found it at TJ Maxx and bought it because it was a very thick bottom. It's very nice to use to prevent burning. That was about a year and a half ago...but he may have a website. Do try the creamer for sure it's really good. I find I like a whole teaspoon or more of the spice in it. Thank you for watching! I appreciate you! 😀💕
@@Jesuslovesme8 hi! Thanks for watching! I add anywhere from a few tablespoons to 1/4 cup normally. I have a water softener and city water but it takes a good 1/4 cup or so for me. Good luck with your canning!💕
@@sherriwilson9588 I agree totally. It wasn’t until after I realized it was too loud that I couldn’t fix it. I was just learning how to make the videos. I’ve gotten better at them lol. I’m glad though that you did find some useful information. Thank you for watching and your comment! 💕
This thing about has to be pressure canned only is not true my great grandma, grandma and my self water bath every thing from meat beans fruit everything and we all survived and I am a71years old what do you think our ancestors persevered thing sure didn’t have a pressure cooked It really up sets me when u all say HAS To Be PRESSURED COOK ONLY….have a blessed wonderful day
@@SharonBarnhart-h7y I know our ancestors canned before pressure canning was available. However new discoveries in canning showed how dangerous it can be to consume certain foods that should be pressure canned when they are not. I always think a person who prefers to can food their own way is their prerogative. But I decided it’s my responsibility to people who see my videos are given today’s proper canning guidelines per the National Center for Home Food Preservation. I myself cannot recommend anything other than safety guidelines on my channel. Safety is my main concern, as this is how I can for my family and friends, but I do appreciate your comment. Thank you for watching! 💕
Hi Debbie. Ive not had that happen before. Did you cook it to a bubbling boil before adding the blueberries? It should have thickened during that time. Also you might make sure you have Clear Jel for cooking and not the instant Clear Jel, and double check the measurements. I'm not quite sure why it wouldn't have worked for you. Let me know if you try the clear jel again.
The bacon was added to the beans and the processing time that was given in the video was correct for the bacon and beans together. I always use the longest time figuring the added ingredients.
I don’t always get the same amount either. I think it may have to do with soaking and pre cooking beans, like the size or swelling of them. Also how much liquid I end up with. But I am glad you enjoyed the recipe! 💕
I got mine here: amzn.to/3Up7jUc (As an Amazon Associate I may earn a small amount from purchases from my link that are at no additional charges to you) I love this jar and have gotten a couple more, they come in handy for lots of things. Seal is really nice!☺

Ok! That's great research you did. I never thought cornstarch was used in candy making. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing the next candy making video!
Thanks for watching! I am glad you enjoyed it and I plan to have video 2 out in the next day or so! We will do the cooking and molding in that one with chocolate tempering in the third. Tempering is really a lot easier than most people think! Have a great day!💕
Good job, Mimi. I'm 82 years old and I'm happy that the recipe is for a small batch. I enjoy using a Presto Precise electric canner now that I need less output. BWB soup has always been a favorite, so I'll be trying this recipe as soon as the bacon comes in. 😊
Thank you Judy I am glad to hear it. I really believe you will love the flavor of this soup. Everyone in my family loves it. Please let me know how yours turns out!💕
Come to my channel for the full video on making your own creamer, for less than $ the price of one coffee house coffee. Bonus : recipe to make your own Pumpkin Pie dry spice mix, use it to make your creamer too!
Looks yummy. Cant wait to try. I just started pressure canning a couple years ago and am hoping to start doing soups this fall and winter. Gonna try this one for sure!!
You will enjoy this recipe if you like the Campbell's bean with bacon flavor, it really tastes that good! I plan on doing more this fall and winter with soups that can be canned, watch for those too. Thank you for trying it, I hope you enjoy it. Have you canned any other soups? Im thinking a vegetable beef sounds really good!
I will try this! I love sugarfree hazelnut which for some reason is becoming very difficult and pricey to find … I have one brand the most used brand but to me doesn’t have the same taste so I’m on the hunt to make one I like.
Thank you! Yeah this is more of a store taste. no spice bag to hang, no sweetener. I think this is the absolute best ketchup I've ever canned. Seriously! The roaster helped the taste and time was quicker to cook down!💕
Hi Teri, yes it will! On top of that I got about another 30 lbs to process the next day from mom and dad. I think these will become just good ole canned tomatoes and some juice. Have you been canning tomatoes?💕
That's a nifty tool for French style beans. I don't think I have the patience for that, but I do really like them that way. Your hubby will be happy you went through the extra steps! Great! Thanks much!
