Hello and welcome friend! I am so happy you are here. This channel is going to be a light hearted, positive space where I vlog my flight attendant life and fitness journey. My goal is to share bits of my life in an authentic and genuine way. I hope to inspire, encourage and entertain in the best ways possible. Just as a reminder: you are alive, you are unique and you are loved! Can't wait to learn and grow with you!!
Welcome to Austin!!! Just started following you. I raised my 28-year-old right here in Austin Texas. I’m sure you’re going to love it. It’ll start to cool down late Sep typically.
Thats one heck of a drive! I do hope rental market stays affordable for you in Austin. Over in Dalles prices are going up a lot. It’s definitely a change from Seattle but what made you want to go to Austin? It’s a long commute, your airline doesn’t happen to have a base in Texas? As for unpacking, do one box a day once you have the essentials out. Eventually you’ll see the floor again 🎉😊
My goodness what a beautiful town, thankyou for showing us around Idaho Falls, your walk around managed to capture so much of this town for us that are watching from Australia 🇦🇺. Appreciate your videos. 😊
Great video Alyssa! One question. Being a commuter now, what happens if the flights you plan to take from Austin to Seattle are 100% full. Do they bump someone so you can get to work or would you just ride in the jumpseat?
So, do I understand correctly? Your base is still Seattle, but you're commuting from Austin to Seattle to get there prior to your sign in time?? Sounds like a tough way to live or work, particularly when your job has you away from home so much... Hope it works out for you! Did you consider changing your base to LA instead??
As a commuter for over 25 years, don’t push yourself too much. Burn out does happen. I use a fly month and a bi month method. That means I fly heavy one month by picking up trips and the next month, I fly just my line. Another thing is to block trips together so you have more days off in a row. I don’t know how it works at QX, but my airline you can sell off your reserve days and pick up and block trips. Good luck with the commute. Love watching your videos. Keep it up.

Hey Alyssa, I'm going to be flying for the first time in over 20 years soon and I was wondering if you could recommend any nice/thoughtful gifts I could give to my flight attendants during my journey. Just something small to say I appreciate their service. Love the channel!
@murrethmedia - #1 - Find out how many seats are on the airplane you're going to be flying - that info is on the airline's website, based on the flight number. #2 - Divide the number of seats by 50 - the results will tell you how many flight attendants will be working in the cabin. (145 seats = 3 FAs, 160 seats = 4 FAs, etc.) Whatever number you come up with, add two (pilot & co-pilot) #3 - Go to Starbucks and buy a $5 gift card for each member of your flight crew (multiple cards if you have connecting flights.) #4 - Go to Dollar Tree (or similar) and buy a 10-pak of "Thank You" cards. Add a little handwritten note inside the card, add in the number of gift cards for that flight's crew, seal the envelope and write the flight number on the front. #5 - As you board the plane, hand the envelope to the flight attendant at the front door, and say something similar to "Please share this with the rest of your crew." DON'T dawdle, simply hand the card to the FA with the simple greeting and continue on to your seat. #6 - Sit back and enjoy your flight. Odds are that every one of the cabin crew will come by your seat and thank you for thinking of them ❣
@RustySax1949 : Thanks so much for this suggestion, it helps all of us to know what's best and how to go about it. Really appreciate your information.
Really happy for you guys!! Really inspiring to see that you both got seperate apartments!! GREAT VLOG!! Also funny side note, if I were to get into the car from Amsterdam I'd be in the south of Portual, which is a 24 hour drive exactly, crazy difference!!
Congratulations on your move, you guys! I was really playing and guessing where you’d end up to and I was surprised to see Austin! Loved that city! I also enjoyed the road trip, Coming myself from italy where everything is tiny, I looooveed to see glimpses of those wide roads and endless highways! 🛣️ Cheers to you both and enjoy this new era!
Welcome to Texas! I’ve been here for decades and still struggle with the heat. Texas has given us opportunities and friendships I would not trade for anything and I hope the same for y’all.
As a former PNWesrerner living in Austin. I love it!!! The sunshine, food, people, and plethora of things to do. I do miss the scenery though! My boyfriend will be making the move from Seattle to Austin next year. He loves visiting!
Congrats on the move to Texas. So are you going to still be based in Seattle or did you move base as well. So what made you choose Austin out of the places you could move. It must be such a culture shock for Damon moving from Hawaii to Texas.
I will still be based in Seattle yes! And Damon actually was the one who picked Texas and he’s absolutely loving it so far! He’s already used to the heat and humidity and there is so many opportunities in Texas that he didn’t have on the island so I’m excited to see him thrive here 🫶🏼
Thanks Robert! We don’t have any family out here but just wanted a change of pace and Austin is what came up out of nowhere honestly lol we visited about a month ago and fell in love with it and here we are!
I am sorry to be negative but such a waste to have two apartments, get a two bedroom if you have to. Two sets of bills, two sofas, two everything. Kind of ridiculous, plus a crashpad, yikes. . Good luck in TX, Seattle is perfection IMHO but to each their own.
