Very beautiful playing, and Mendelssohn himself would have approved of Mr. Schütz using the sheet music as he did not like musicians performing from memory. Very good tempo in the first movement which often is spoiled by a tempo much faster than Allegro.
Amazing turnover by the keyboard at 4.50 but why on EARTH doesn't he play from memory? It's only Bach for Heaven's sake, not Prokoviev! I've performed all 6 solo sonatas plus the 2 violin concertos of Bach countless times (to say nothing of the Elgar, Tchaikowsky, etc. etc.) It's not hard!!!.
