@@mysimplevanlife Thanks:) I repurposed it ( slightly modified) into my cargo van in February when I sold the Pacifica! I love the underside storage. Lynn ( AvianMariner)
I have been looking for something like this for over a decade and you just show up in my life showing me what I needed to see. You are amazing. Thank you.
I have a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica I just brought I'm wanting to build it out I do not know how to remove the back seats and I don't know how to remove the seat belt in the back as well. I bought a piece of plywood but with the hump in the back of the van I don't know how to build out feet for the piece of plywood I'm extremely stressed out I bought this new van and I don't know if I can do it or not starting to feel like I'm obligated to $30,000 for nothing
@@tinadaniels401 I did put up a few videos on making the 8 feet in the back useful ( including how to build up the back so it is flat. ) Keep in mind that you may want to sell the vehicle in the future! Permanent removal of the stow n go seats and belts is not something I would do. The belt in the far back can retract into the ceiling... I am traveling right now so can't look up the early videos easily, but will try to when I can if you can't find them 😊 Lynn ( I loved my high mileage Pacifica until I traded it this year )
@@kimgo4518 Hi! I power the fridge/freezer with the portable power supply. Because the fridge only uses 46 watts it doesn't drain the battery and is pretty quiet running at night. I traded the Pacifica and bought a small cargo van and a 200 watt solar panel for its roof so PPS is always charging as opposed to the folding solar panel shown in the video. Thanks for watching my channel! 😊 Lynn (AvianMariner)
@urdad9853 I have many videos on various products. Most recent video is on my new refrigerator/ freezer 😊 as well as my van, solar, and power! Thank you for watching my channel! Lynn ( AvianMariner)
@@alexandermonzon8165 The original one ( 1000 watt Baldr) still works... but only as a controller for my van rooftop 200watt solar panel... or as a flashlight. I used it heavily for 4 years of Power outages at home and many roadtrips. I have another 1000 watt EBL which is now my stand alone PPS Lynn ( AvianMariner)
2nd question does the battery die out fast any reason why it's no longer you're number one I'm thinking about putting this on Credit since times look pretty dark ahead of me for a backup cooking method for my little Fam...
Been there, done that. I can offer some suggestions but need a bit more info. Where are you going to use it? What are you planning to use it with? I have a video called, BougeRV 200 watt solar panel as well as many "cooking in my minivan" videos you might want to watch. I can also use my 120 watt portable solar panel (shown in video) if I am stationary. The fastest way to recharge the PPS (Portable Power Supply) is on AC . You really have to see what the wattage of the appliance you will be using is. The higher wattage appliances will obviously drain power fast, that's why I supplement with solar. PPS's have a number of, "Cycles" (recharges) they can go through before starting to diminish in chargability. The Old Baldr, no longer holds a charge so I bought a second one. This is true of ALL PPS's even the really expensive ones! Lynn
Thank you for the very helpful video. It gave me confidence i could do the install myself and save $400-$500 that the dealer wanted to do the install. It turned out to be pretty simple, and your video helped! One note: you need a T50 torx bit (aka 3/8 inch star bit) not a T47. (The T47 probably fits, but i bet it is loose)
Definitely helpful advice. I'm thinking that I'll take a rice cooker to my off grid spot. It's only 400 watts, so that won't worry my little battery or my inverter.
@@thebabaa5001 It depends on the wattage of kitchen appliances. I have plugged my household refrigerator, into my 1000 watt power supply during power outages for a few hours. I do use solar panels ( as shown in video) hung out a window ( window closed lightly on panel wires.) I have multiple 1000 watt power supplies so can also run a sump pump, freezer, or tv ... There are higher wattage power supplies available which could easily run a coffee maker, microwave etc. you just have to know what your appliances wattage are ! I do not like the sound of a whole house gas generator ( I had one when I was lived in the North) Did that answer your question? 😊 Lynn ( AvianMariner)
I have other videos with different appliances as well as how much power is used. Your coffee maker probably ( depends on model ) would need a higher wattage portable power supply ( 1500 watt + ) . I use lower wattage coffee makers because my power supplies are 1000 watts. I can use a portable heater ( 700 watts) in winter for example- but after about half an hour, my power supplies need a recharge unless I am running them off solar panels on the van roof. Lynn
What a smooth set up! But I couldn't live without fire. I'm here for the 700 watt or less reviews, though. The thing is, a 600 watt air fryer kept blowing my 100 amp breaker fuse, shutting down my 2k watt inverter, and frying my wires.😢 At least when we're broke down on the side of the road we can make coffee and cook food. With coffee, all things are possible. 🙏🏼🤣
@@SewingBoxDesigns I traded the Pacifica and got into a small cargo van 😊 If you have questions on any of the appliances in the video let me know 😊 Lynn ( AvianMariner)
I have a similar board but the cracks between the glue joints are a little larger. Does the glue provide protection from bacteria. That has always worried me.
@@tdematteo01 My block is about 50 years old and had some wide cracks as well. I don't trust glue with food so tried food-grade mineral oil. The wood absorbed it making the joints a bit tighter. I wouldn't cut steak on it, but bread etc is fine. I too was concerned about things growing on it! Lynn (AvianMariner)
I hope that you are well. I was checking for another video. At that moment, I realized I hadn't commented . I wondered about your Route 66 trip. I am looking for a larger vehicle. I am almost 6'. I may just fold myself in half. I currently drive a Jeep Patriot. I think I am traveling in fall time, providing the temperature falls considerably. Texas is hot and hot some more.
Hi! I am looking forward to cooler weather, or at least less humidity! There was a narrow window in spring to do RT66 - now I have to wait for another window LOL! Are you familiar with the GMC Terrain? My Husband just bought one and we are both impressed with his commute gas mileage! +30/gal. I hinted taking it on a road trip, but he reminded me that he needs to go to work, and doesn't like driving my Cargo Van... Nice as always to hear from you :) -Lynn
Wow everything is coming along nicely in the new vehicle. Loooove the set up and the new fridge thats awesome 🙂 great idea for the eax removal never wld have thought of that. Great video as usual 😊 ❤
@@still-jlynn I am happy with it! Now if I can just get on the road, or at least camping ... I can really test it ( and the " thing" that I didn't show on the video from Ever Advanced ) Lynn
When I was traveling alone, I just set the cooler on the passenger seat so I could get into it as I was driving, handy as heck!! And I got your same EBL power bank and the matching solar panel, A friend of mine really liked the EBL solar bank so much he wanted to get one and he did, all thanks to you Lynn!! 😀👍🏼 you rock sister!!
Hey Avian! I got the same Fridg/Freezer & love it! What also works is to put food on the bottom you want to stay frozen and put refrigerator items on top of it. Love your channel.!!
Thank you ! For months I kept thinking about purchasing a new fridge/freezer. Couldn't justify the purchase until my 16 quart AstroAi started acting flaky. I knew I wanted larger interior and better division without sacrificing space. Since I already have many BougeRv products, I jumped at this. I am really happy so far. Now, if I can just get on the road again :) Lynn
@bobhyde547 lol! Glad I could help 😊 Mine was the Touring L. I have to suggest one model up for the bigger tires, ( and a few more features) but whatever you do, get a Pacifica!!! I loved it... Lynn (AvianMariner)
Great video. I'm due a 700w battery station, and I think cooking with a smaller surface with a lid (as efficiently as possible) may reduce consumption even more. Thanks for showing us the real effects.
@@marykinser I love this tent! I don't know if I mentioned it, but ... set it up at home and wax ( I used automotive wax) the sliding part of the poles. Also, if you have some of the inexpensive cotton gloves with rubbery dots in the finger/palm area, it makes sliding the poles so much easier!!! I have arthritis and the gloves help a lot for grip 😊 Lynn
@@avianmariner I remember this. I am going to set it up at home. And I do want to be able to sleep in it at that time. That way I will be sure everything is 💯% correct.
@@posys5140 I traded the Pacifica a few months ago for a used Nissan NV200 cargo van. Installed a solar panel on the ladder racks ( roof rack now... ) and am so pleased! It sounds like you and I are about the same age. We girls can't tolerate the heat like we used to. My central air in my mobile home went out and we had temps in the 90's for a week. I installed a window unit for the bedroom and a portable for the living room. What a relief!
@@auntmaryspals7978 I could tolerate heat ... ( I farmed in my 20-30s All day on a tractor! ) But can't function with hot now. To make things more interesting, my dermatologist told me, "no sun for you!" Right! lol!! Thank you for watching, and commenting 😊 Lynn ( AvianMariner)
It was great to see you again. I pray that the summer temps will moderate to normal. I appreciate the updates on the choices you made. I am looking forward to more travel/camp adventures. I am ready for the next season change. Texas weather is just that, Texas. Dreaming of the fall season to get outdoors.
The amount of people with those horrid gas stoves with long thin gas bottles lying horizontally is scary. Ive had one burst into flames. Its a design flaw. I know they support bigger pans which is handy and the gas bottles are cheap but if going with gas in a van its better to have a larger gas bottle in a locker thats vented or a more portable trangia type where the bottle can be kept away from the flame and the bottle can be unscrewed easily when not in use. p.s you can transfer gas from from the cheaper thin gas bottles into the stubbier type with a simple cheap brass adapter off ebay easily and still use cheap gas.
