I saw him do a heath ledger joker painting lice on stage, it looked like crap while painting it but as soon as turned it around, it looked phenomenal. Literally the best artist out of all comedians Alice today
I love it because it is terribly English! It is one of the shows that remind us how historically beautiful this great country is. It also typical English sprit of adventure. Consider that this was 1989, some old clichés as well as slow tempo is acceptable, Annabelle is sweet but I think she really wasnt the most perfect host for the show, for she speaks too slow and got such a soft voice, this show supposed to me more intense and fierce.
I wonder was this the only time that a helicopter from a company other then castle air was used when the contestants were taken off the conoco gas platform. Judging by the red blue and white livery I'd guess it was Bristow helicopters. Could be wrong though .
Why don’t we get stuff like this anymore? and I like the guy in the helicopter who used to complain all the time that he wanted to pay rise and stuff like that it was brilliant.
I loved watching this cartoon as a kid. :))) It has been so long since I have seen this cartoon that I forgot Max's favorite line: "Dirty Diapers!!!" :)))
Well, after over 30 years, this has me AGAIN yelling at the pathetic 'contestants' for being such LOSERS! Little wonder we're in the state we are, if these are 'average' folks! >:(
Its incredible that these were made *35 years ago!* they have hardly dated at all! The helicopters still look very modern, contestants hairstyles, the stonewalls, trees, sheep, cows, grass, ancient ruins, roads, even the theme music, electronic but sampled from a classical piece by Chopin! and so on. This was made and shown in1989! 35 years before that year would be 1954! and if you had seen a programme made that year in 1989 it would look a lot more dated!
They don't make shows like this anymore! They try and make them good now. "Can you hear me? Hello? Was that to me? Where are you? Hello?" repeat as needed
This was a "good" show and any "hiccups" that occured just added to the drama and pace of it and kept that "live" feel. It was, of cousre, based on its predecesor Treasure Hunt keeping a similar format but the major differences were having the contestants and host out of a TV studio and "on the ground" and the adition of the character "The Interceotor" to give it some more excitement. This was televised in the summer of 1989 and only one series was ever made. I assume that viewing figures weren't high enough to warrant another series being commisioned but these episodes that have made it on to RU-vid are an absolute treasure trove!
@sanchoodell6789 the difference was Anneka was a professional broadcaster and was better at covering communication issues, putting two civilians in the field communicating with Croft just ending up with two flustered people screaming a lot. It's a fun show, very of its time, and it's fine if people enjoy it. My pleasure from the show comes from how awkward the whole thing is.
