I know Bret Hart always talks about how great of a wrestler the dynamite kid. He was wrestling when I first became a fan, but I don't really remember any of his matches with the British bulldogs
seen tito in phoenix during the fall of 1988 and a lot of WWF wrestlers showing up even Ultimate W but when Tito marched into the ring the whole place erupted in cheers my ears were ringing I couldn't believe the fans this guy had
Its good to hear a good account of Dynamite. Considering some of the negative things said by other wreslers. Dynamite was the 1st wrestler I remember just absolutely being fascinated with the way he wrestled when I was a kid.
I saw this guy wrestle in Calgary a bunch of times. He was Garfield Portz the wrestling lawyer. That was his gimmick. He had some sort of medical issue that nearly killed him if I remember correctly. His dad, Geoff, had been one of Stu's favorite British boys. From the 60's to the 80's no North American promoter brought more British wrestlers over here than Stu Hart. From Billy Robinson to Giant Haystacks to Marty Jones, Kendo Nagasaki and Dynamite Kid - they were all broken in to North America by Stu.
Used to love watching SmackDown as a young teen over here in the UK. I loved everything about that show, the tag team division was incredible. Basham’s were such a great team, I fancied Shaniqua a lot back then haha. WWE today doesn’t do enough with the tag team division anymore. Tag teams are always 2 random wrestlers being thrown together rather than being an actual tag team. Plus they never wear the same attire which bothers me lol
One of the things I LOVE about your channel is you put on guys like Mr. Joe Gomez here that haven't done a gazillion shoots already , but hardcore fans know and respect . I truly appreciate that . Thank you once again !!! And thank you Joe for doing this interview for us fans .
While Mario jokes about being a "high level jobber", his words are very true. His matches were always realistic and entertaining, and there always seemed to be some chance that he would break through, and secure a major televised victory. He always worked top level opponents, and was usually the highlight of the weekly enhancement matches shown on TV. As a fan, I now enjoy listening to his very honest perspective on what was really going on back in the day. His interviews are among the best and most informative found on RU-vid.
