What does the name mean? Well, "Day Hiker" is obvious, and "From the Six" is local slang meaning "from Toronto". We got into hiking, RVs, and outdoor pursuits as an escape from the bustle of the big city, so we're Day Hiker From the Six!
Follow us as we explore our world in our teardrop travel trailer. Let us inspire your next hiking or outdoor adventure!
Just got the excursion today. The advantage of an inflatble= small easy to transport and lighter to carry. My other boats are 16-14ft and the Malibu II sit ontop (is too heavy for my rack so I just stick in in the truck bed-and strap down)..all great but awkward. In 1985 I got a Czech made inflatable that was amazing. It had multiple air chambres and in places really thick reinforced skin. Alas it passed away in NZ about 6 years ago. Hoping to have fun getting out in lakes and rivers in the intex. Thank you for covering the things that matter ( u must be Canadian).
Welcome to Cleveland! Next time stick around because there is a ton of stuff to do here. It isn't at all what people think, like the 80's version of a blue collar town lol. Visit W25th street and stop in the West Side Market, Great Lakes Brewery and for some fun games Pins Mechanical which is home to free classic arcade games, a plethora of pinball machines and string pin bowling. The Flats are right down the road for even more fun night life, and Edgewater park you can take out some jet skiis, catch live music and enjoy some surf if the conditions are right. Yep, people surf here too. Also if you are into "farm to table" food, just south of Medina is White Feather Meats butcher shop. Also known as "The Bearded Butchers' on RU-vid. I've traveled all over the States and this by far the best place to buy any meat, I promise you that. Check out their channel when you have time. Safe Travels
My takeaway from my short time in Ohio was that it’s a great place to visit, and I will be back, hopefully more as a tourist and less of a business trip. Cleveland sounds awesome! Thanks for watching!
Always best to check the manufacturer’s website…currently showing $37,190 CDN plus $499 in fees, but as you know prices can change 😀. Thanks for watching!
Hola saludos desde Costa Rica. Está bastante bonito el remolque, lo que más me agrada es el tamaño y el peso, además que la distribución es perfecta. Me gustaría saber cuál es el precio en dólares americanos. Gracias quedo atento.
Absolute GARBAGE for that price!!! So sad that people are actually buying trailers with 12V fridges and no oven! 🤦🏼♂️ how are you supposed to go camping for a week without electric hookups!?? Run your generator all day!!?? Nope! Now way dude! Real campers HATE generator people!
I’m not a fan of generators myself (I’ve never owned one). The good news is that you can get the trailer with a 3 way fridge. For sure having a 12 volt fridge means using solar and an upgraded battery if you want to boondock. We spec’d our personal trailer with a 2 way fridge for this reason. We rarely have hookups when camping here in Ontario.
the major problem with a cassette toilet is that you have to stay very close to civilization. It is illegal to dump the toilet in the wild. So only good for camping very short stays or close to amenities.
Cassette toilets are dumped at the dumping stations in your campground with the advantage that you can do it more often without having to move your rig. Same as a poop tank. Thanks for watching!
I am the original owner of a 2011 1713 model and have never regretted the purchase (ordered in 2010). I have lived in it for 3 months at a time throughout the winter months as a "snow bird" and it is still going strong. I boondock exclusively and it has served me well. I would sell my house before I sold my Alto.
We love our Alto and till this day we haven't found another small trailer that suits our needs as a family like our R1723. Thanks for sharing your experience and Thanks for watching! Happy Camping 😃
You pay for the craftsmanship and the quality. The industry offers a whole variety for all tastes. You just have to find the one that's right for you. Thanks for watching!
In my opinion this is the finest small trailer on the market. We had a 2022 purchase price was $38k US dollars. Had it one year due to health reasons had to sell it. We got 91% of our money back. Now it’s the tour bus.
Yes it should probably be addressed with rust check or rust paint. It’s unfortunately not uncommon especially if the trailer have been exposed to salt on the roads during snowbird trips.
Like it. Color is exactly what I would want updated. Long in tooth was a great way to say it. I like it. Yes I could easily camp in that especially with your awesome canopy with the bug netting. Definitely could camp with that set up.
Glad you enjoyed it 😀 We recently heard from the manufacturer that the 2025 new models will have an updated colour interior. We're excited to see it. Thanks for watching!
The floorplan is nearly identical to the mid-70's Serro Scotty 18' "Trunkback" model I had many years ago. It even had the storage over the rear bed that would fold down to create a bunk -- we stored our bedding there during the day. We slept five in ours, the 4 & 6-year-olds on the bunk and 1-year-old on the dinette. It even had the square bumper to store the sewer hose. We pulled with a Chevy Astro. Nice looking update!
Yes I learned that on a recent hike. One pole sunk into the mud and the goo suctioned the pole cap off! The summer cap might have prevented it. Live and learn 😎. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the tip. It's a great design that offers more organized storage, although very pricey!! I think that's why most Casita owners build their own. Thanks for watching!
I would like to see the GVWR and the towing rating of your vehicle. Most people don’t factor the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating which is more important, in my humble opinion, to the dry weight as it includes the propane tank and all items required for camping. Over all good job on the video.
Hello, we just got sent this review from our friends at Longhaul! Thanks for the detailed and unbiased review, and we're glad you enjoyed your time in it...and good news: we're going to be updating the colour palette for the interior of our 2025 models!
You are paying for the single piece construction and also the bespoke design. If you value design, styling, premium finishing, and lighter weights, then you may see the value in the extra cost. Difference strokes for different folks. Thanks for watching!
Prolites are only made in Canada. There are several US made lightweight trailers…check out our full playlist of walkthroughs ru-vid.com/group/PLc6Joo_5aacqfqJEhGLtNxT5oK7LtsZ_1. Thanks for watching!
They should have put on screens and shades like the tab and the ability to close those cupboards wo adding weight. Cheap products used for weight but I think they could do better. Good show, man.
Rather hard to see the whole inside as the camera seems to be on you too much or cupboards that are stupid to open. This looks like they are trying to copy the Tab, which I love. Need to explain the battery, air, heat, animals left inside and kitchen. No one wants to see you in a shower. Show the entire inside from front door to each side, then explain kitchen, dining, bedroom. Thanks and I love the weight as I can only pull 1999 lbs. lice is good and easy to listen to. Beautiful spot. Good idea to offer to show for free rental😊
You can say something without being rude. I don’t see anything wrong with the height being shown and a towel over his shoulders. Goodness. Choose kindness
