Awesome video! Great to hear the guests talk about SAN MIGUEL ESKRIMA. Enrico is in top form and a fantastic Sensei. The techniques and training shown are impressive. Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏻❤
. . . and that ladies & gentleman is what I call female empowerment! Her stances were good, and her reflexes were spot on. I've only been training Balintawak (WOTBAG) for 8 months, and I still feel like a beginner. I hope this young woman's passion for the art follows her for the rest of her life.
Hello there! She looked at the comment and says Hi! And thank you again for the feedback! She is my wife and is been training in both San Miguel Eskrima and Balintawak Arnis Cuentada. She surely will keep training as we all do, every day! ✌️
@@CovertExpertiseArtiMarziali Oh my G-d, wasn't expecting a response; thank you! You have a keeper for sure; I am pretty sure your home is the safest house in the neighborhood. I wish I could train every day. Right now I am training in Modern Arnis (Presas) and WOTBAG Balintawak Arnis. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you both been training in both arts? I also do Wing Chun which is a perfect compliment to arnis.
@@olieantonetti7393 me, Enrico, the guy feeding, i have been practising Cebuano Multi Systems and San Miguel Eskrima from 2005. Never stopped and i have practiced all levels of Balintawak Arnis for roughly 3 years with Jhun Occidental. Cinzia, she is a long time boxer, which switched to my systems when we met in 2019.
I've been studying balintawak for almost a year now, and it is not about learning "the moves" but rather learning how to counter after every opponent strike. Of course, there is a default flow pattern of angle strikes and counters of 1, 12, 3, and 6; where your uke strikes at angle 1 and you counter, then they strike at angle 12 and you counter, they strike at angle 3 and you counter, they strike at angle 6, and you counter. After that the uke (feeder) then does fist strikes, or grabs your stick to test whether you know the concepts of lifting, clearing, putt-putt strikes, etc. You have to understand the basics to understand what Jhun is doing with his student. I went to their World Camp in 2022, and I had similar questions, and once I understand what they were doing, it was easy to do the exercise that they're doing.
@Coventry Punx Also, just another note, I am training under the WOTBAG Balintawak, where as Jhun is training under Toboada Balintawak. I just started training Toboada Balintawak, so GM Toboada and the WOTBAG Balintawak are about 80% similar. Toboada emphasizes hitting with the fist and stick in hand, whereas WOTBAG emphasizes hitting with the stick in general. They both share the most important elements, defense, blocking the strike and immediately countering.
