Welcome to Jeff Andersen Fishing! On my channel you will find Freshwater fishing tips, education, and entertainment! If you're into catching big muskies, walleyes or pike hopefully will find some great tips here. I'm a fishing guide in Minnesota with Leisure Outdoor Adventures and have spent my life on the water. I also get to spend countless hours on Lake of the Woods chasing my favorite fish the mighty musky!!! Along with all the hardcore pursuits I also enjoying taking my family fishing as you will see them make appearances in some videos. I love watching kids catch fish and sharing memories!

This video features two location. First one is Obabikan Bay Camp in Morson and the second is with my great friend Jean Paul Tessier "Big Thumb" in the Northwest Angle.
How do these pro guides do in shallow water? I'm a big tiller guy. I feel that side consoles or center consoles just take up way too much space. Where I live down south you just won't see these boats. It's either bass boats or jon boats.
Great mack attack young man😊😊. Is that the 32 inch medium legacy series he was using? It definitely shows that even well built medium blanks can be nice inland Laker rods.
Yessir. Canada, had a small northern pike and from the canoe, as we were reeling it in, big Muskie just ate the whole thing and snapped the line. Talk about traumatic!!
Never really got a chance to fish mine. Bought the 30 size. While ripping a trap over the top of grass , the instant anti-reverse kept failing on me to the point where it ruined a fishing days. Don’t know if it’s quality control or just a bad bearing. It’s a shame to save hard earned money to buy equipment and have it fail and not live up to the Abu Garcia standard.
Great info/ insights on terminal and tackle. I know that this video is 2 years old and wished I responded earlier but I have been curious. On some bodies of water where both lake trout and walleye are abundant, is a medium action rod to cover both fish species? Just asking because I have seen anglers use 32-38 inch medium rods for lake trout and do fine at times instead of using a medium heavy or heavy blank.
if we are all being honest.. does this bow seem like something an old man would be able to easily access storage? i think they should have went with 3 big verticle storage boxes. i dont see my father being able to access the storage upfront easily.
Throw a line and hope for the best. Get your rod outta the water. Old school fishen is legit , no screens or this figure 8 rod in the water shenanigans. My opinion , its cheatin yourself. If you hook one this big without a screen, then that’s somthin.
We made several casts down the shoreline before this one showed up. We would have caught this fish with or without side imaging. In this case it just helped prepare us for the follow but like always I’m thinking I’m catching one every cast so I would have been ready.
Great rig! Couple questions, as I'm looking to configure my Pro Guide. What size Talon do you run? What model/size Humminbird did you get on the triple rig? Thank you
I respect your opinion Andrew but disagree with your statement regarding "Real muskie Fisherman" plus I don't get sore arms and calf craps playing video games like I do with 13 hour days grinding away chasing muskies...
@@JeffAndersenFishing I'm just curious where the line is? What if they invent a mini assistant angler's submarine that you can hook the leader to and it automatically swims your bait back and forth in front of the exact location of an imaged muskie. Once the muskie hits sub rapidly engages forward, giving you a hook set before releasing the leader and floating back to surface to be picked up after the fight is over. Would you use something like that if you could catch 30% more fish? It is my belief that all these monitors in the boat are distracting anglers from the reason they got into fishing in the first place. To each their own I guess, but imo side imaged caught fish should all be *asterisked.
@@andrewgoodman8161 I believe the line is drawn by the individual angler. Some choose to fish with a fly rod, some troll, some with electronics, some with 9 foot rods and high speed reels, etc. Each have their own perspective on how they choose to fish. I can say that personally Side Imaging only accounts for a small percentage of fish when based solely on marking them. I use it much more for learning structure. But bottom line it's the individual angler that has the right to choose for them how they choose to fish.
@@andrewgoodman8161 Here it is ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k8eT1fHI-uA.htmlsi=2qmW91f3GmmHII6h I'm getting 2 underwater drones with tape measures on them and with my 3 livescopes I will be able to tell what is a 50" and cast only to them, so this side imaging you don't have to worry about anymore. Better yet I am going to hook a line to one of them and have a 13" granny attached to it ! Thanks for the idea 🤣 I have been fish LOTW for over 35 years and have my share of big fish and stories but with the pressure up there now I will take what ever I need to put fish in my boat 😏I'm getting too old to keep up with the young gun's and there new technology ! Lol
Great video that’s what it’s about family and memories I have been to the lake of the woods before this is the first time the wife and the daughter are going can’t wait
Cool video Jeff & Gavin!! Hopefully see Gavin in a UND jersey after he plays his years with the warriors. Very cool ice fishing content!! #TightLines & #LightTheLamp
What would you recommend for a heavy pulling bait reel (double 10 bucktails etc.)? Right now I’m looking at the Diawa lexa TW 400P-P, lexa HD 400PWR-P, the Okuma Komodo SS KDS-436P, shimano tranx 500, and the Diawa Prorex 400P-P. I would prefer a solid line pickup (in terms of spool size) and a gear ratio of 5.3:1 5.1:1 4.3:1 or 4.1:1
I have put my #abugarcia Revo Toro BEAST 60 4.9:1 through the gauntlet and it's been amazing! Full disclosure Abu is a sponsor of mine but I'm confident you wouldn't be disappointed. All reels have failures but to be honest I have had zero issues with the Beast line up.
@@braidenspersonalacount8390 Good luck this year up on Lake of the Woods. I have really found to like the Berkley x9 80lb Braid, Stealth or Doug Wagner makes a good leader and I always have a good topwater, bucktail, crank and jerk bait ready to go for lures.
*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*
