STUPID! I buried a musky hook in my Hand!

A long day on Lake of the Woods chasing muskies and we finally get a bite at the end of the day. It was a smaller 40ish inch sized musky and I wanted to get her unhooked so we could catch another one. It didn't go as planned. I wasn't cautious and the fish does a roll and buries the hook in my hand. I had to bear down and rip the hook out which I did. This situation could have been much worse as the fish was still hooked and the other hook was buried in my hand. Please learn from my stupid rushed mistake.

Very lucky you were able to get it out so easily. That could have gotten real hairy with a big fish and deep hooks.

Clay Robert for sure! Super lucky. If she would have flopped or head shook this would have went south! It was deep but I recognized I had to rip it out ASAP!!!!

Been there even when they are in the net. But it's always been a smaller fish 40 and under.

You were so lucky that fish didn't start thrashing when the hook was in your hand. When my uncle was in LOTW a mid 40s fish put a treble through the bottom half of his thumb and out the top by his fingernail and then started thrashing and rolling while the hook was still embedded. Yeah not fun. War wounds we call them! 😎

So stinkin' lucky!!! I remember just sitting there trying to rip it out hoping she wasn't going to thrash. My goal is that someone who watches the video saves them a little pain. War wounds no doubt!!!
