An artist that loves oil painting, business, & my cat spooky 💫
Artists tend to be a bit lost when it comes to the finances and business side of things, and I'd like to change that. My videos tend to be highly educational, talking about marketing, income streams, and entrepreneurship for the aspiring visual artist. I also share my journey studying the art fundamentals and leveling up my own art skills over time, as well as the evolution of my business.
Hi! I really hope you see this, I would like to use the free template you’ve created with notion! When I click the link in bio it asks that I request for access and when do it says try again later?
My end goal is to paint. I wish I knew how much drawing and how far I need to get into some of these programs to be able to safely transition and know what I need to start painting.
Most professional art jobs have been replaced by anyone with a computer and with AI its any idiot with a computer...whats left fine art???...so jump in the pool with the sharks, maybe youll be invited to a diddy party. Real jobs have been turned into part time gigs....
just remember that tumblr is REALLY difficult for business. it's all word of mouth, theres no algorithm, and people often follow for personality, not just art. i've also noticed landscape and still life doesnt often get as much attention as figurative, characters, and fanart.
I worked for anime for years and I still don’t have talent. It’s not fun to draw anime for me and it’s not my style. I just practiced a lot and a lot and got good at it. It’s just not fun for me. I’m trying to find a new style, this video helped a lot. Thank you.
I have a regular part-time job but I also make pet portraits on commission (I work on them whenever I find the time 😅). When I see how happy the people are when I give them my finished drawing of their beloved cat, dog, horse,.. it also makes me happy. Actually making other people happy is more fulfilling for me than making drawings just for myself. And by doing these commissions I still learn a lot as well 😊 so yes, it changes once you start making art for money, but in my opinion it makes it even better 😊
Discord is great for community building for sure. I also have hit a ceiling with my Patreon, but also with everything else it seems so I’m not sure what to change.

You inspired with your amazing thoughts! I believe in the same :) Looved your painting 👌 I have started painting to keep an art journal, not business but I get the feeling! May you keep shining alwayz!✨️🍀🌈
If I started a RU-vid channel about a stupid animated cartoon character, I would have a big audience. But I was born at a time when actual artistic skills were valued. Glad there are a few like you still trying to promote your talent.
I just got a 6 month suspension on Instagram yesterday for "spam". I used my art account as a personal account which I guess was a mistake, but I never really wanted art to be my job so I'm not very professional about it. I just wanted to share my art and also yap and maybe people would be interested. It just really sucks because I was addicted to Instagram, like; I use their app for hours everyday as a user and I had really started to try and put more effort into posting content, I gave them tons of engagement and it's so stupid but I genuinely liked Instagram. I like the app, I like my post algorithm, I actually had plenty of good conversations with people when I stopped engaging with trolls and hateful people. Idk, idk why I'm even saying this, just venting I guess. I genuinely sought this video out because I'm so angry with Instagram and i guess myself for being so emotionally involved. Thank God for my boyfriend for actually getting me back into the account or I would've lost my entire archive, that man fought tooth and nail fr, idk why they make it so hard. Anyway, sorry for the yap, thanks for the video. Definitely feels good to know that Instagram has been terrible and probably will continue to be
my boyfriend has been an artist since he was a teenager (hes 30 now) and actively posting online. He is on the brink of being homeless. We cant afford to live together, I dont know what to do we are a bit desperate : c He wants to start new things but its impossible when each month all that is left in your bank account are a couple cents...
is there a way to sell art without whoring yourself and your private life out on social media? As harsh as these words are, but everyone makes it sound like thats the only way
This video didn't help me in the slightest but I'll leave this comment for the algorithm so it can potentially help other people. Also every artist I've ever heard speak on this subject has nearly the same advice as this video
