26 year old living in New York City as a software engineer. I mostly make peloton, cycling, and fitness content with a random video thrown in there every now and again!
I love metal music so I did one of Kendal’s metal rides and it was by far the most brutal class I’ve ever taken and I’ve done a lot of interval rides with her and other instructors. I also couldn’t do the minimums for about 1/3 of the ride and I still got a PR on that ride. The one I took was a 9.2. Jess’s sweat steady rides are also so brutal. Ive only done 30min and that’s more than tough enough for me. I could do it but I wouldn’t seek it out
I love Jess's sweat steady rides but they are hard!! Kendall's heavy metal rides are impossible imo! If you want an even harder challenge try her Metallica ride lol - that is a hard one!
@@EmmaAdamss I enjoy sweat steady rides too I’ve done 4-5 of those but my legs are absolutely burning by the end. Yeah I agree. I’d like to retry the heavy metal ride again though and see what I could do now because I’m a lot stronger and have more stamina now. I do love Metallica so I’ll have to check that out at some point
I did a 60 minute Matt ride in studio a couple of years ago--it was either my 200th or 300th ride, and he was great. Haven't been since then, mostly because I almost never think to look at the studio site on thursdays. I'd also love to go to london one of these days to ride with either Bradley or Sam.
oh yeah I bet that was an awesome class!! I’ve never timed a milestone right but now I kind of want to try. I would love to do a Bradley class, and my mom would love Sam! The London studio would be so cool.
I have to tell myself almost on a daily basis that I don't need any more workout leggings. You definitely got your money's worth with a 75 minute class! I'm three and a half years in with Peloton and I still haven't even attempted a class in studio. My dream class would be a walk + run with Jess Sims!
haha yeah it’s so hard because I wear leggings almost everyday to work out, but I definitely have enough to last me many years 😂 Jess Sims would be awesome! Next time I definitely want to do a tread class.
The in studio classes are such a fun experience! I did a NYC studio w CDE a few months back and it was so fun. Id love to do a zone w MW! I didnt know about this Lulu members thing will have to keep closer eye on emails 😅. Do you guys have room for a bike in your apt?
ooo CDE would be so fun as well!! yeah the email just came randomly one day but it’s definitely nice to get some freebies! We probably would have space to put a bike in our apartment, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to accept one of our rooms smelling like sweat 😅 I had a bike in my bedroom when I lived in SF and it was a little much! Especially since I have a road bike here. But the classes are so fun!
Personally, I don’t care about getting better or worse. Each day is different. I do a lot more than just bike so it’s all relative Thanks for the info.
I like the classes but agree that it doesn't feel like a program. Barre works because you do a stupid amount of reps without a break to burn out the muscles. I wish they progressed week after week, with maybe week 1 doing 2 sets of 8 clamshells and doing 5 sets by week 4. But they probably knew people would cry doing 40 clamshells 😂
yeah would’ve been cool to see some build up but not sure how much better you can really get in 4 weeks when every week you have arms, legs, core etc. I think this would’ve worked better as a collection!
I'm firmly in the camp of needing Hannah to be in small doses. But I can't deny that she's phenomenal in the barre and stretching categories. I'm interested in taking this program but stretching it out...a lot. You definitely increased my desire to take it even if it's just to access the classes as individual classes.
hahaha yes I can understand the need for small doses of Hannah. Yeah some classes are good! I think this would’ve worked a lot better as a collection, I wonder what the motivation was to make it a program. Even I took a week break in the middle!
Thank you! I get lab work every year and my thyroid is fine, I have a small patch of white skin on my throat which might make it look weird some times but I appreciate the concern!
Congratulations to you two 💕 💍!! What a fun arc to have followed your Pelo growth and seen your travels in Hawaii days, Europe/engagement and now BB honeymoon! All the best of happiness to you both 😊
I like barre but there is only so much Hannah Corbin I can stand. She's just too much for me! Ally has really grown on me with her barre classes. I just have no desire to work up to 60 minutes of barre. I think the classes have their place as a warm up or low impact workout, but I don't enjoy them enough to take the program. But as always, I'm following along for your journey!
hahaha yes i totally understand Hannah being a lot, she was actually my fav instructor when I first started peloton cycling since at the time she was doing a ton of beginner classes so I feel like she is so nostalgic for me! Yeah 45-60 min barre classes are a lot, honestly I would probably not be doing this program if I wasn't making a video about it but it has been nice taking a break from strength - I was getting a little burned out from it but after this program I'm definitely ready to jump back in!!
I agree with you on your thoughts - I stopped mid week 3, it just didnt feel like a program. Debating if I want to do Stronger You 2, an Andy program or Rebecca split for the fall - do you have a preference among those? Or your favorite recent program?
yeah I'm surprised it's not more cohesive - I'm usually a huge fan of the pelo programs and I feel like a lot of thought are usually put into them!! Density Training with Andy (1 or 2) are definitely my fav programs on peloton - just be warned you will really work!! but you also can't go wrong with any RK split. Stronger You 2 I was just okay with
Have you heard about Peloton's pace targets? It's basically power zone training for runners but it's only available on the Peloton tread/tread+. I found a chart in a Peloton FB group and I've been using those zones for callouts in class based on what I think my easy/hard/very hard paces are. I find the "zones" to be super helpful because I'm a slow runner and knowing what really easy is vs what my pushes should be is helpful. I feel like I'm improving. We'll see!
I have seen it but aren’t the pace target classes not available on app? how are you doing them without the tread? Or are you using the ‘zones’ in regular tread classes? I’m sure you are improving doing this though, there’s so much science behind all the zones for running!!
@@EmmaAdamss they released one class a few months ago and have since removed it from the app. But generally I just use the speeds in the chart I found for regular run classes and that helps me go at a really comfortably easy pace and push to my hard paces when needed.
They used to have "extra mile" running classes on Peloton that were meant to test you speed, but I think they all may have been purged. I remember taking one with Andy Speer where you started at a comfortably hard pace and kept adding speed. I'm hoping they will bring some of these types of classes back with the new pace targets feature.
Very excited for this video! I've been in such a slump with strength lately--summer has really changed my schedule. I'm loving the breakdown of each day!
I believe RK can get you out of the slump!! but also I think it's natural to change between different exercises to keep it interesting - the best exercise is the one you do!!
I have really been liking Rebecca lately! I even found a core class I like enough to repeat (11/24/23). I hope you do the new barre program, I'll be curious to hear what you think!
I'll have to check out that core class haha if there is any core class I can repeat that would be amazing!! I love Rebecca too. I think her strength content is really top notch! And yes I'm taking the barre program now!!
I bought wrist weights to help with my incremental increase in weights with Density 1. I think on my last week I kept them on (1# each wrist) for most of the exercises. I probably should get 2#. It really helps with the upper body jump.
@@EmmaAdamss I bought the cheapest pair I could find on Amazon. I *thought* I was buying 2# but they were 1#. I would definitely recommend 2# as it would be a better transition between weights!
