15:10 I remember this song from a couple of Gundam SEED (anime) fanfics by StormWolf77415. The fics themselves are okay, I guess (though nothing too groundbreaking), however this song SUCKS. Which leads me to say this: Bro, StormWolf77415. I love you man and your fics are not bad by any means (certainly compared to vile trash like My Immortal and Dipper Goes to Taco Bell they are outright MASTERPIECES), but please please please please please reconsider the use of stuff like Nickelback and Hinder for your Gundam SEED Kira/Fllay romance fics, because those songs sound about as sweet and sexy and romantic as taking a shit, and sound like they’re being sung by vocalists in the process of doing just that. Also this gives MORE ammunition to the Fllay-bashers and Kira/Lacus stans in the Gundam SEED fandom, as they can credibly claim to have better music tastes on average than we Kira/Fllay fans do (though they mainly listen to rather generic J-Pop (which still sounds good, certainly better than Nickelback and Hinder---but which isn't particularly original-sounding and is even a tad dated given that almost every Gundam SEED opening and ending song sounds kinda like Cascada with orchestral instruments and guitars added in))…
Really though, StormWolf77415, you could pick something, ANYTHING else. Why not, for your songfics that is, use actual good songs about sex and love from the likes of Deftones, or Muse, or Radiohead, or Coldplay, or Oasis, or The Neighbourhood, or The Weeknd, or (old) 30 Seconds to Mars, or Lana Del Rey, or Halsey, or Christina Perri, or Foxes, or Ellie Goulding, or any one of a THOUSAND other artists...honestly ANYTHING would work better than Nickelback or Hinder for your anime romance fics (especially ones involving lemon (sex) scenes). Hell, I think "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins would work better (and that's about an angry bald man bitterly wanting to watch someone die), as would "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons (which is about the world ending in NUCLEAR WAR), or "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People (which about a school shooter), or "Kim" by Eminem (which is about domestic violence), or anything from Cannibal Corpse or Infant Annihilator (you can kinda guess what bands like THAT write about), or even anything from that Welsh band (IYKYK) that Rocked refuses to talk about (yes, even A Town Called Hypocrisy, whose music video is about teaching kids oral...hygiene)...
Why does no one say the same about paramore? Any time I talk about anything negative about them after their first three albums, I get massively shit on lol
I'm torn on this. On one hand: I totally sympathize with where Armstrong is coming from in seeing a lifelong love of his community being pried away by Fisher & Co. and how abrupt and painful it all must feel and the disbelief that ensues too. That IS most unfortunate and I get where those raw feelings stem from. On the other hand, the lion's share of the blame can be attributed specifically to John Fisher, not the City of Las Vegas. If you talk to the majority of Las Vegas residents coming from someone who visits Las Vegas often and is even planning on moving there in 2027, they do NOT want the A's to begin with. They want their own expansion team. Most specifically cite Fisher's incompetence as the team's owner as well as their management as to why they want nothing to do with the franchise. So while I know Armstrong was probably struggling to articulate his heated feelings much like Macklemore was struggling to articulate his heated feelings about the Palestinian people being powerless and oppressed and anguished about all of that and angered many saying, "F America!" when he probably meant "F the American government!".............it still came across as puerile and curmudgeon-like a la Grandpa Simpson shaking his fist at a cloud and, worse yet, was terribly timed given that the city is currently mourning the seventh anniversary of the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting on October 1st, 2017. So yeah: I genuinely feel for Oakland sports fans, but Fisher is squarely the one to blame for the BS.
I can also get where he's coming from, but I don't think I felt torn when the Chargers moved out of San Diego for LA, mainly because the Chargers hadn't been good for a while and it was the owner throwing a hissy fit he couldn't get the taxpayers to build him a new stadium. Also, I wasn't living in SD yet, and had a cultural obligation because my mom's from SD. Now if the Padres somehow get sold off...
I feel the same way haven't even listened their newest album. 2. 3. Best 4. Ok but the evrything after just sounds a bit odd. Just saw them live thou and they where amazing.
I understand that these kind of videos are going to exist, but I find it sad that it does anyway. He had to publicly state the situation because he's a public figure and didn't want someone else to be the one to explain it all. He was taking accountability for his actions. Respectfully, I find your statements and other's ridiculous. We have absolutely no idea what his relationship is like with his wife. And to say that not only did he cheat on her, but cheated on his family, is a little bizarre. He didn't have a second wife and family. He stepped out on his marriage and this was the result. He's also been going through an unbelievable amount of grief since losing his best friend in Taylor and his other best friend, his mom, all in the same year. Reportedly, he's been getting medical help for these losses. I also think your comment about his new daughter having to explain this situation to others in the future is very insensitive. Plenty of people have fathers and mothers that are not in their lives consistently, or married to each other. He has said that he'll be participating in her life and wants to help raise her. Given his wealth and the opportunities she has moving forward, I doubt she'll want for much, and she certainly won't be missing out on having a Dad. Ultimately, even though he had to share this with the public, I think it's non of our business and we should just shut up about it. It's insensitive to all involved to turn this into subject matter for click-bate/monetary opportunities. And cheating is both a choice AND a mistake. It can clearly be both. Everyone needs to retreat to their glass houses and leave this man alone.
1:29 I wouldn't describe August Burns Red or Bullet For My Valentine as generic. They both had bands influenced by them, and they still both have distinguishable sounds on opposite ends of the melocore spectrum.
Since this is war every album released has been more and more disappointing. They’re so generic it’s actually gross, type of music you’d hear in the mall playing in the background. I also have this thing that emails you about last minute tickets and I remember getting an email about 30STM at the O2 for £10 the day before the concert, that’s how far they have fallen! They used to sell out!
As a Louder than Life attendee, while it sucks that Friday had to be cancelled it had to be done. The remnants of Helene (great band name for anyone who wants it) ended up just stalling out and turning in as opposed to continuing north. Initially they projected Re-opening Friday between 6 and 7, since the gusts of 40-50 MPH winds were supposed to be gone by then, but once they lingered it wasn’t going to happen. And at least the campers and people who arrived early to park could shelter in the fair and expo grounds right across the street, as opposed to like BRRF. Still a really fun weekend, even with the massive amounts of mud and spitting rain all day on Saturday. Highlight of my weekend being seeing Judas Priest again after Faulkner’s near death experience last time they were there. And yeah honestly with how much it rained on Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday, it’s amazing how few bands had like slip and falls or such. Great work from the crews to keep the stages as clear as possible.
He is a singer , that doesn't sing very well & a rapper that doesn't rap very well.. 😮 I'm not even sure what you would call him. It's just an image & good marketing .
I usually listen to this podcast at work since I work overnights and always enjoy what I hear and I am excited for another rock colosseum and your 10 more meltdown video. Happy early birthday and i hope someday to catch you live
