Thanks so much for making this video and putting the tuning guide on the website!! Like you said, it did sound good in isolation, but needed some tweaking once I put the 5 toms together. Liked and subscribed. Keep up the great work!
All the haters in here probably play with 7As and only compete with 15w practice amps lol 2002 series are incredible for playing in loud bands (5150 full stack and two full bass amps in my 3 piece POWERSLOP band - no joke) Just found a crack in my 20" Wild Crash... The funeral is imminent 😥
I have a set of these, just waiting on my 14" floor tom. I put Evans UV2 heads on them and they are wonderful. I swapped the tom arms with Pearl hardware and replaced the mounts with RIMS mounts. Very happy with the kit, and I got a good deal on them!
My only problem with internal mufflers is that they can push on the head and affect tuning. But I don't totally disagree. Most people use a pretty dry snare sound so why sell most snares with single ply heads and no muffling
On-board samples are a waste of time (and memory space!) on a top-end sample pad like this - no-one's likely to use them but load their own (better) sample libraries instead. When will these manufacturers learn that we don't breaking glass & helicopter sounds?
After a lot of thinking, I bought one and I don't regret anything. Although the light can be a bit annoying or you need a place that isn't very bright, I'm working on a new receiver which uses infrared lux so with that it shouldn't be a problem anymore. outside light or similar :D
Genuinely impressive. Not going to be the best in the world but for the price they have nice projection and articulation. They have more than enough distinction for a newer drummer or someone needing a midrange upgrade to ensure they have a decent instrument to keep them engaged without breaking the bank. Could even be used as a light touring setup for more intimate gigs. Good job Stagg.
Just bought a set of these, as I always wanted a complete matching of cymbals from one of the traditional artisan producers, previously beyond my financial reach. This review was so helpful, I've viewed it many times now, hearing a great set of beautiful quality cymbals, which look like terrific value for money. My wife gifted me these for my birthday, the package is here and I'm so very excited but have to wait until my birthday, in October! I might sneak a cheeky look , when she's distracted, but after she's opened the package to check the contents for me.
Do you think an Evans E Ring could tame the ring without completely choking the natural tone of the shell shell? I would love to hear this snare on a Dialtune kind of system. This might not make good business sense but I bet the folks at VK and Dialtune would have a blast teaming up on a project like that.
Just bought a shell pack of these brand new in the Tanzanite Burst colorway from a Guitar Center for 600 bucks cuz it was missing a 12 inch tom and the snare😂 Big W.
By themselves the rides wash out just a bit too much. I put a sticky hand right under the bell of my 21 eclipse and it brought everything out more. Even got more bell you really just gotta hit it the right way.
Thanks for a great review. I've been playing a Ludwig Breakbeats for about 10 years that needs updating from a lot of wear. This looks like a perfect replacement.
I very much appreciate the honest review that was given here. Especially regarding the 18-inch crash. I like the sound of that crash, but I can't help but agree that the harshness is kind of killing the what would have been a really nice cymbal.
Why are you cutting the sound before it plays out on some cymbals but not others? You're not giving a real example of the sound in order to get a shorter video? What's up?
