If I had the,$$$'s I would keep the car relatively stock with over 400 fwhp from an exhaust system upgrade & tune plus fit a manual transmission into it. Or I could be a bit more adventurous & get 600 fwhp from just a big cam upgrade for the LS2 V8 engine & tune. The LS1 V8 engine in my VY is making a bit over 400 fwhp from the stock engine albeit with mandrel bent Genie 1 5/8" Tri Y headers,200 cell per inch high flow cats & a Redback twin 2.5" high flow cat back exhaust system & a tune. It was putting out 370 fwhp with custom "crushed" (press bent) "1 5/8 inch " (more like 1 1/2 inch) primaries, stock 400 cell per inch 2.5 inch catalytic converters,a custom twin 2.25" exhaust system which means it put out as much power as the stock LS2 V8 engine in the VE Commodore. So with a slight tweak on the dyno in 2019 by an old school friend & without my knowledge they tuned it after I upgraded the exhaust system, now it puts out as much power or more than the 6.2 litre V8 in the VF SS Commodore & it's a stock 5.7 litre V8 engine. These engines are severely choked at the factory, some people wonder why my VY SS Commodore goes better than their VE SS Commodore !
Haha its all bmw stuff… I thought you didn’t do bmw.. Their crazy boxes hey, and like you know, the cut out clutch pedal too. Its just getting them to bolt to certain things.. Then the separate brain and software to make the bloody thing work.. gets expensive… Which means you should probably keep the LS for a rainy day too… That thing turboed… Anyways look forward to seeing what the 8hp goes in!! Keep it lit, keep it low! Loving all the builds.. I do see the rx3 12a cpe sitting there too… (im ex rota) 100k for a car im going to skid.. nope!..
My pop whos 87 has the exact same car ,he bought it brand new but im pretty sure its a lil bit different under the bonnet ,Low Standards best automotive channel on RU-vid
Jay, legendary move brother! I watched Ash's video of that PP rotar on the street just loving the 8 speed! Literally who in their sain mind would run a 2 speed power glide even if it's mostly for the drag strip? There are some people out there that have "strip" built cars that they occasionally street drive......but it just seems inhibitory in nature? It doesn't give anyone a taste of your cars flavour unless you give it the full beans.....when you've only got 2 gears. It doesn't quite give us the eargasmic sounds when there's only 2 gears. Honestly the 8 speed has the goods too keep you always in the power band and it all comes down to those magical final ratio to suit your motor and power combination, car weight and purpose? Plug in those variables into the various known combinations available along with your personally preferences; I'm pretty sure you'll be able to come up with the perfect final ratio 👌
Standard issue in all Aussie cars.....pins in the roof lining.. Also, to all the 79 series dudes..the 8 speed BMW is the trans to have rather than the 200 series auto....
i keep telling everyone that 8hp and maxxecu is the wayyyy... maxxecu will control the 8hp and the engine. no need for lamik or can tcu. nothing wrong with a lamik or can tcu tho 😁
@@CruisinCaprice Mate, the same was once true of RX-3s. I used to get rides home from school in one. White two door, never washed, just a gutless, common-as-muck car nobody looked twice at. Try find one now..
@@ragereset2795 you never ever would see 30 plus rx3s unless you drove around Italian panel shops 🤣 anyway someone might take it and chuck another 6 litre in it
@@ragereset2795 your making me feel old 😂 vk and VLs are the older stuff in my eyes but I do agree and that’s why I’m not selling my WK caprice, don’t see them for sale very often now days
Ok so that was you in the Mx5 13BT infront of me in my S2Rx7 13BT in the lineup to go into 4 6 & Rotary Nats at AIR…..just as we went through the circuit entrance gap between the stands, you cracked a mint ringy/donut - it was sick!!
Im pretty sure i know the reason he "sold" you the car given how it was shown, and i get it, i dont realy like a look of the ve but that was an amzingly put together car that will keep many more cars going, wich i can understand as i just sold my 80 series to be a parts car, but i know she will live on in other cars. Love ya work jay 🤘🤠👍
