I lost my ferret last year. I still come back to this video every once in a while to remember those better times of showing cute ferret baby videos to my best friend. It feels like now that song fits perfectly with the video.
For anyone wondering. She actually has a sister named Sorell Amore. Who is a very big RU-vidr in Australia and still does videos to this day. Steph was always playing second fiddle to her. But her videos back then were extremely unique and funny. But now hearing about all this intent to be a life coach. It sounds like shes going down the route thats been successful for her sister. I honestly just wish her the best as a fan who was here from the beginning
Got the mats, tell them off (words are enough; they know they are wrong), stick them in their cage when they just won't stop, distract them with other things....It doesn't matter. Especially my girl is fully focused on scratching the carpet (Why not the blankets? Cardboard Boxes? The Cat climbing Frames?; The Tunnels; the Shredded Paper?) Every 'morning' when I let them out of the cage, she'll....They'll; my boy usually follows suit....go back to the mat at my bedroom door and scratch; same thing at night anywhere between 2 and 4 am. The rest of the day not so much.....nothing can keep her mind of it. The mat is there to protect my carpet somewhat....it's rubbish, cheap quality anyway and my landlord will rip it out once I move out; but I still want to keep it in as good a state as possible....but it feels like they see it more as invitation to scratch even more. And it's not even so much the damage they can cause I worry about.....Having to listen to the constant scratch noises affects my, already, poor mental health....and I worry that it will piss my neighbours off (I have already a neighbour threatening me; I can seriously do without that).
Hello I'm in the US and I'm trying to find what is the best stuff other than his ferrets food. Which is only for him but now that you say something about them eating animals maybe I need to find something here in the US for Jack he is a bit underweight when I got him he is 6 years old and I don't believe they took good care of him he is now mobile running around my house like a crazy man which I love he's only had a few accidents which is no big deal. But I really need to find out if I should get him raw meats and what kind of raw meats please and thank you so very much❤❤❤
I had to have my beautiful ferret Max put down yesterday. The vet thought he had a flue but after a few more checks it turned out to be a large tumor in his lungs. He filled my life with happiness and love and I will never forget him and how special he was. It has been very hard but this video has given me some comfort.
I know your not on RU-vid anymore,but thank you for this video because we just lost our clyde James 2 weeks ago,he was our 8 year old ferret he had cancer that spread to his brain and enlarged his spline and went into his blood so he left behind 5 more brothers and sisters and his chinchilla friend wally.its been just horrible explaining why they don't see him anymore.belueve me they know . ferrets are so smart .my husband and I are not still over his death at all. because 2 weeks before that I lost my Rabbit of 13 years old.his name was Bun Bun.and then Jan of 2023;my cat sunnyann passed again from bladder cancer and she was 18 in a half years old.so yes I looked the heck out of not just them but all of them.these are my children.and I will see them throughout there life and enjoy every moment they give me.i cherish each and everyday and minute and second with them. because you never know day by day what going to happen.
My dad say they are creepy but I said they are cute and I only have 3 day to tell him to get me a ferret I get points for doing stuff if a get 4 points I get a ferret and have a great day
My little guy, Paul passed away two days ago. I'm devastated but endlessly grateful for the years we got to share. My heart goes out to everyone who had to let go of their dear ferretbabies, let's honor the love and joy they brought us and spread it out into the world ❤
TERRIBLE video! First of all? The person holding the SMART (dumb) phone is too 'shaky'.. 2nd, this should be done in PANORAMIC view but unfortuantely there are (to this day) still too many people that don't understand taht thet can TURN THIER PHONE sideways! There are to many things 'just out of view withthis little sliver view! 3rd. Sruffing the ferret with it;s paws (especially rear paws) on a surface-in this case YOU.. makes it harder so it should be over a table with the ferrets feet dangling ( or back feet held by a 2nd person. I feel sorry for any fools who inadvertantly hurt their ferets by watching thi!
Ferrets, being creatures with stubby legs and thus naturally have their noses so close to the ground (due to the evolution of mustelids being carnivorous hunters with sleek bodies designed to enter the narrow burrows of mice, rabbits, and other rodents), are susceptible to being triggered by pollen, micronized dead skin cells from humans/insects (i.e. dust), floor cleaners, microplastic particles, and bacteria that litter the floors of your home. Be wary that the owner's choice of deodorant, perfume, or shampoo (especially since many ferret owners are demographically female who are likely to use much more generous amounts of hair product compared to men), can drastically also affect a ferret's respiratory system. These risks, however, can be mitigated with proper household ventilation, HEPA air purifiers, dusting, and vacuuming. Their bedding is also an overlooked critical item, since ferrets sleep on it 16-20 hours a day, they spend 3/4ths of their entire lifespan coming into contact with the material their bedding is made out of. Ferrets are known to chew or eat their bedding when curious, bored, or nauseous, thus causing further nausea if the bedding contains synthetic fleece, plastics, hay, loose sawdust particulates, aspen or cedar wood shavings, or material laden with fragrances/perfumes. A ferret's blanketed sleeping area should be comprised of natural fibers such as organic cotton, alpaca fleece fur, natural silk, or wool (though their claws are susceptible to getting stuck in unkempt fibers or knitt-holes), with the rest of their cage lined with odor-free, non-toxic wood pellets or recycled paper product bedding. For a personal touch, ferrets who are close to their owners are sometimes able to sleep more peacefully when sleeping alongside an article of clothing laden with their owner's scent. Just be sure that the clothing is also non-perfumed/made of natural non-synthetic fibers as well. Many types of essential oils, such as eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, cinnamon, citrus, oregano, clove, pennyroyal, peppermint, pine, sweet birch, wintergreen, and ylang ylang that are found in human skin/hair care products are actually quite toxic to ferrets (and cats), since they cannot metabolize or respiratorily filter out essential oil phenols the way that humans can. In fact, most plant-based oils should be avoided since ferrets are _obligate_ carnivores, a.k.a. hypercarnivores who can only survive on the consumption of fats and proteins. Ferrets derive no nutrition or benefit from carbohydrate plants or vegetables, though they do inevitably end up with some (<5%) plant-based consumption anyways (such as from the half-digested grains and plants found within a chicken's or mouse's gut, for example). The only real oils that ferrets can safely process within their bodies are oils derived from animals such as salmon oil, pollock oil, beef tallow, chicken fat, et cetera. Take extreme caution against using pyrethrin-based flea shampoos and sprays, either directly on and around ferrets because of the high incidence of reactions to these products, though many are sold under various brand names touted as "safe" for ferrets. Pyrethrin is a pesticide extracted from chrysanthemums, but it can pose neurological dangers to ferrets, and many react immediately to exposure with vomiting and tremors. It goes without saying that your ferret shouldn't come into contact with any pesticides, insecticides (whether traditional perimeter sprays or ant traps), and rodenticides in general. Many species of commonly cultivated indoors plants are highly toxic to ferrets, and we all know how much ferrets just love digging up plants. If you keep indoor potted plants, be aware that the following species are all highly toxic and ferrets should never have any kind of access to these: aloe vera, amaryllis, azalea, baby’s breath, begonia, carnation, castor bean, chrysanthemum, cyclamen, daffodil, gladiola, hosta, ivy, all lily species, milkweed, morning glory, oleander, poinsettia, pothos, sago palm, tomato plants, tulips, narcissus, rhododendron, and yew. There are many other species that are toxic, but these are the most common ones brought indoors. It’s a wise idea to keep all potted plants and cut flowers out of your ferrets’ reach, though. Exposure to most of these plants will cause kidney damage and/or liver damage. If you suspect your ferret has been exposed, please contact your closest ferret-knowledgeable veterinarian or emergency veterinarian. One other consideration with cultivating houseplants is the possibility of your ferrets’ exposure to chemicals in the soil. Many commercially available potting soils include chemical additives such as fertilizers and even moisture retention compounds. Toothpastes pose another danger too, as they can sometimes contain artificial sweeteners like xylitol, as well as fluoride. Xylitol is extremely toxic to pets, but fluoride is another often overlooked danger to ferrets. It is toxic to ferrets (as well as dogs and cats) and will cause heart rate abnormalities, digestive upset, neurological symptoms such as tremors, weakness, and eventually collapsing and death. When cooking with onions, garlic, or other pungent vegetables from the onion family, make sure the range hood fan is running, or that your ferret isn't in the same room until the smell dissipates. The pungent particulates of onion-related veggies often contain N-propyl disulphide, which causes anemia (reduction of oxygen-carrying red blood cells) in ferrets. Though ferrets sleep an average of 16-20 hours a day, signs of an anemic ferret can include perpetual tiredness, shortness of breath, and a general weakness that pervades well-into the few hours that you know they _should_ be active, but aren't. Other dangerous foods include avocado (persin, which causes vomiting and diarrhea), grapes and raisins (unknown toxin that causes kidney damage), chocolates and teas, including black, green, and white tea (theobromine, which causes kidney and liver damage), and the sugar-alcohol xylitol, mentioned previously, used in gums and other sugar-free foods (causes hypoglycemia and liver damage). I looked for this because I had to give my ferrets away when we moved to Spain because we didn’t have enough money to bring them well we did but if we brought them we wouldn’t have had enough money to buy a house so we’ll be living on the streets right now I really miss them I would do anything to have them back but it’s for the best
This was made a while ago, but decided to post my planing. My parents do not like ferrets, they think they are mean and stink really bad. I did a LOTT of research and found affordable and good quality items, I plan on using my small saving and I’m hoping for enough Christmas money to pay my parents back. My relatives will more than likely pitch in to help pay for a lot of things. I already have a dog an a turtle (my father takes care of the turtle) so it’s a lot to ask for a ferret and I already told them I understand if they are not willing. My parents are really great and I think they’ll come around, we’ll have to see though!

Water bottles are great for ferrets who cannot leave water in the dish. My first girl, Glitch, shes fine with them. All the water bowls! Then 6 months later I got my second girl Fidget. She cannot leave water in the bowl, Ive tried all non-spillable dishes and nothing works. So I now am on the search for the greatest training videos so my one ferret wont dehydrate them both for having fun. I love them both dearly but this is stressing me out daily.
Hi I'm I've been noticing this last few days that my ferret seems to be of balance everything else with him seems fine eating well still friendly as ever. Have u any idea what it could be? I'm in Ireland and the heat this last week has been unusually bad would that have anything to do with it?
i Should've searched this earlier. My ferret died las week. She was fine until saturday, when i have seen that she was lethargic, didn't eat or drink and had difficulties breathing. She had an implant 2 years ago, so we should have gotten her a new one, but the vet said she was in perfect shape, so we didn't think much. She always had a lot of energy, so when i saw her like that, i started tyo panik. The vet was closed at that time and tought that she could make it until next day they had opened. Sadly she died few hours later.i have tried everything, also searched online but didn't helped. It hurts so much that i didn't do more for her. But she was brought to the vet and he said it was everything alright. Why didn;t they tought to advise us? I lost her and it pains me so much....She was never sick. This is so hard for us...
if you need a thing to hold the ferret down (besides ferrevite) use a sock with a big hole in it and loop him around (if this isn’t true please warn me so I can delete this comment I have no experience)
I have three ferrets and you are right. They are expensive. I travel a lot and cannot take them with me. So I have to pay for lodging for them which can be expensive. All of my friends won't baby sit them because they are afraid of them. LOL! Anyway, great video. I think I want to get another ferret. The fourth one will be the last one. :)
