God's definition of Christian Nationalism is found in Exodus 20-24 and it is decidedly different than Wolfe's fantasy version.

Wow, Jon, my already existing respect for you just went up at notch or three! Thank you for taking on this important topic! And yes, the US is complicit in downfall of this productive and relatively free nation. The cooperation of the West in the downfall of Rhodesia is a stain and a blotch. How did the West AND the Communist East manage to agree to destroy this wonderful country? Makes you think the differences between the two powers was not as great as what we've been led to believe.

Example of imposing your culture on others: I worked for FedEx in the early 90s (Federal Express) right after they had bought Flying Tigers (landing strips around the globe). The prospects of quick worldwide shipments wasn't working because not every non-White person is interested in getting their package as soon as they could. The locals were not helping with that idea. IQ played a factor too. I've heard Africans are planning on networking their country together with railroads right after they invent the wheel. I'm kidding, but more than ideology is needed. More than good government is needed. Evil is bigger than you suggest by thinking government or ideology alone can contain it. God knew what He was doing when He separated the nations based not on ideology, like humanism keeps insisting, but on family. He accomplished this by pushing continents aside. Which tells me its not that easy to separate people. Add to that Gen 11. Look up the Mohammad Ali video where he frankly says he is not interested in raising his family to be anything other than Black. I think that works the best, for every family but who cares what anyone thinks. God says. The entire Old Testament supported the initial example set by Him. Who are we to tamper with His design? It's not to hard. Just reverse what is being done to the White people.

Rhodesia is a super interesting topic and most people know very little, or at least just the leftist version of it, great to hear it from Will. As you mentioned, Peter Hammond grew up there and has some great resources on it as well at his website and sermonaudio. I totally agree that in the end, it was truly a battle of communism versus true liberty, and modernity against the western Christian tradition. Remember Rhodesia

I can proudly and humbly say I knew in my heart and soul it was what I thought it was. I drove to Grace Church to worship with true brothers and sisters during their Biblical defiance to illegal orders to shut down. I was prepared by God's grace to go to jail if it meant others could worship. Thank God for my faith in His strength to stand firm with those other Believers who were worshipping in spirit and truth by the powerful Presence of the Holy Spirit no matter what. It's a spiritual war. All Praise to God.

@10:00 My husband told me this is the same thing that happened in Peru (he's Peruvian). A leftist military government took over (can't remember if it was late 60s or early 70s) and took the land away from landowners, redistributing it to the workers. It was a disaster economically.

37:02 “culture is doing [it] too, see, but we're doing it for different reasons, we're doing it for gospel reasons they're just doing it for other reasons, but we're all doing it together so nobody despises us” They see it as "Winsome Evangelism" which, in my observation, does not include the mandate of the Great Commission (irony there) - Make DISCIPLES which goes beyond the 'track', the 'Roman Road' or the 'sinner's prayer' and actually into teaching the Bible and theology and the marks of a follower of Christ, which, he who did it best with the 12, took about 3 years!

You could begin the narrative from the real beginning. Namely, this was a British settler colonial project that began with Whites militarily stealing native Africans' lands and setting up a state that they dominated.

A simple yes or no will tell us all we need to know.

I've been listening to Conversations that matter for a year or so. I'm increasingly finding the mindless support of everthing Donald Trump, says, is and does un-Christian and un-intelligent. The treatment of Billy Graham's grand-daughter waa a final straw. Mocking her voice and career is public bullying. It demonstrates the ignorance of ths host of this podcast.

Jude 1 Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. Judgment on False Teachers Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day- just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion. These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever. It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage. But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

"Love the stranger" Point to the Christian historical experience with this, when massive waves of migration overwhelmed the fringes of Europe. When we made a national effort to Christianize them, it worked out okay. When Christian evangelism was not central to the assimilation of these strangers, the results were catastrophic.

I was just thinking ‘whether Keller has sold all he has and given it to the poor’. It sounds as though this is what he is implying - but perhaps not. If he was saying that all Christians should follow what Jesus told the rich man (“sell all you have and give it to the poor”), I think it would be missing the point. Jesus was not speaking to all of His followers, but to the heart of one individual who was clinging to wealth and not to God. Keller does however seem to imply what Jesus taught about moderation vs. extremes, saying that those who are aligned with a political group tend toward one extreme vs. another. He pointed to the specifics of ministering to the individual vs. the collective. I would stress that both are of equal importance. In the long and the short of it all, I hear Jesus at the living center saying that, if one truly and from a sincere heart will seek God and His righteousness first, they will be attuned to the Spirit’s still, small voice whose roll is to impute (to assign as a characteristic) wisdom, understanding and guidance. From this, a person, whether wealthy or poor, will be directed as an individual to do the Father’s bidding - some in ministering to the individual, some to the collective and others (to one degree or the other) to both. The worn, secular cliché “you can’t legislate morality” is a reasonable “fit” for saying that no one individual or group is in any position to order or judge what the Spirit alone is responsible for assigning the follower of Christ.

Bro, this is basic stuff. Presupp does not deny natural law, at all. The position is that Natural Theology, man’s interpretation of Natural Law, suffers from various degrees of vagueness and confusion due to the noetic affect of sin, so Special revelation is necessary to gain clear understanding and application of God’s revelation in nature.

Right! I had never heard of Gavin Ortlund before I watched Basham discussing the backlash with Alisa Childers. From that conversation he seemed like a decent guy who may want to reexamine one of his positions. Then I looked at the comments for that video, and the outrage over Basham's relatively mild criticisms of Ortlund was so disproportionate (and turfy, honestly) I could not help wondering if there is not some deeper problem with him.
