No Subaru out performs good traction Ti Tires, and experienced drivers. I'd take the Volvo any day. Superior build quality. Much more reliable engines and Aisin transmissions. Subaru's cost as much or more and feel like tin cans with wheels.
What did you say? Did you ever even had a try at a Legacy? Are you comparing this fatass Volvo to goddman Impreza? Legacy is superbly well put together. GD Imprezas are abit of a tin car but mostly noise wise they are cheapest model in the line up and becaus eof that were compromized on everything but the drivetrain. Legacy is exact opposite of that. And Outback is just a variant of it. They are incredibly durable and safe. People had rollovers in them and cars were only lightly damaged when most other cars would be too mangled to be driveable.
Everyone's boasting about how much better the Subaru is in snow and that may be true but in reality the Volvo is more than capable of getting you home in bad conditions. I like both cars but I'd choose the Volvo because when it isn't snowing (most of the year where I live) the comfort and refinement of the Volvo trumps that of the Subaru.
Лунаходу не зимнюю надо ставить,а всесизонку, есть очень хорошая Итальянская вездеходовская,а шипы на гололёде хороши. Да и систему стабилизации надо отключать и на ручном переключении.
I can without a doubt say my 2010 legacy sedan with Blizzak ws70’s is light years better than my 2014 double cab Tacoma with Hankook ipike rw11 with studs. Superior tires, lower center of gravity, more even weight distribution. The power transfer helps and the traction control makes drifting under 40mph more or less impossible unless I Scandinavian flick it hard. As long as ground clearance isn’t an issue it’s no contest.
I have had to use my 2005 Outback to get my 2013 outback out of jams when it gets stuck. The 2005 was way better in the snow. And when in doubt my 2002 Audi A6 could push both of them out (unless it got too deep, as the Audi has no clearance, but is still a beast).
These are sweet! We have a w163 in the family that is getting old and I was planning to do a lift on it? Mind me asking how you raised the rear suspension? Spacers?
So what is going on inside at 1:20? I see the TCS working and I think I hear the ABS pump clacking away. Is that with TCS on or off? Is the center caution light on the dash flashing? I can't wait to do some more testing of my own! Only situation I've found myslef stuck "unable to proceed forward" was going uphill from a stop where every application of forward power only kicked in TCS. I was trying to crawl as to not spin and gut pulled over into a deep ditch. We've got some differnt snow now so more fun to come. Good video. I like the slow motion so you can see the TCS puttin in work.
Hi Jon, yes the sound you hear is the ABS pump, quite noisy but effective I guess. This is one of many test, in this case, it’s with traction control ON and yes it’s flashing the yellow triangle in the dash. The ground surface is completely icy and we are trying to see how much traction we can get out of the tires and TCS of the ML. So just having fun. Cheers :-)
@@perfotaamg7753 great tests you guys did. I am just trying to judge if mine is working correctly. My ABS kicks in even on windy roads if I run over the center painted line going to fast or too many Gs which isnt much. This system is very sensitive and quick to react. Maybe thats why these ABS motors wear the brushes down so quick... looking forward to seeing more from you
