This is the most magnificent arrangement, Blake. I saw you guys do this live at the Proms this summer (with the KS no less) and it was fabulous! I am a huge Ringmasters fan,so I agree with Rasmus when he emphatically indicates “Yessss!” at the end. Brilliant video, impeccable sound mixing (bravo tech crew!!!) and Blake Morgan is a true gift.
lol I commented on this song bc it’s one of my faves and it just started playing but I didn’t see it was Voces8. One of my all time favorite choral groups. Of course it sounds perfect. Y’all are perfection.
Original key or step low? I remember singing this in two keys and I listened to a different recording and it did not sound as settled and mellow. Sure enough over to Voces8 and it is a half step down. What a difference it makes.
Thank you, Voces8! I've watched your recording here many times, but for some reason today I minimized the video and just ~listened~ to the music and the Spirit as I read from Jesus's words in 3 Nephi 18 of the Book of Mormon. What an incredible experience to feel His love combined in these two mediums. May God continue to bless you as you share His light and goodness through your talents.
The beauty of Byrd’s Ave Verum Corpus, so delicately and perfectly rendered evokes a deep spiritual reflection on the mystery of Christ’s sacrifice. This performance feels like a foretaste of Heaven, gently lifting the listener towards divine grace. Absolutely moving.
