YES! Dude, those parts were so fun! Isosceles and…a certain wild boy in later episodes were voiced by some very good friends of mine. It was so funny getting them involved. I still haven’t finished the last video in this series (super bummer and that’s on me)
As the dude that made this video I want to let you know that I appreciate you watching, but more importantly, I hope it was apparent that “exploiting” the Barbie movie/trying to get women views wasn’t the true intention of the video - rather it was to have fun and experience a different way of playing that I never try out (sorta a theme with a lot of my vids is playing CK3 in weird and unexpected ways). I hope you enjoyed it, and I’m sorry if all I mentioned was apparent. The last joke about Pablo Escobarcelona at the end is sorta intended to show that it’s just me being goofy, but like 3% of viewers ever make it that far haha. Cheers!
Oh absolutely! I was just goofing with my comment. I’m a regular ck3 enjoyer (own both ck3 and ck2 and have had to restrict myself from playing it because I will lose so entire days to the thirst for map painting.) so I watch this sort of content all the time tho I must admit the premise definitely caught my eye lol. Plus a lot of content creators in this genre seem content to ignore female viewers or even use their low female viewer statistics to make jokes about how there are no women watching (which is a self fulfilling prophecy bc when ppl say stuff like that it makes it feel like we’re not wanted so we stop watching that channel regardless of interest) So goof or not I do appreciate the effort! I should honestly try a reversed gender roles run since I normally try to form a matriarchy the natural way which is so much harder. I didn’t realize inverted gender roles still allowed achievements
Haha okay cool. I have recently encountered some miscommunications with some related stuff and I just wanted to make sure! As strange as it seems, I stopped playing CK3 as much when I started making the vids (editing takes sooo much time). I finally played all day yesterday with my gf and it was so fun. I haven’t played like that in forever. If you’re ever looking for people to play mp with I’ve got a very chill and welcoming discord you are welcome to join (on channel page). No worries if that’s not your thing, but it’s there if you’re interested!
I definitely have some ideas for that mod! So I’m really not too concerned with the % of views, it was mostly a joke for the reasoning of the vid and I was just further making fun of myself with the Pablo EscoBarcelona bit, BUT IM SO GLAD YOU SAW THAT PART BECAUSE I LOVE IT hahahaha. Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope you enjoyed!
Ah seriously? CK3 shouldn't allow you to just redefine history at will. The medieval world was male dominated for a reason. Political and military power were inseperable. Warfare depended on bravery and physical strength with melee and strength based weapons such as the longbow being critical. Women were perceived negatively as rulers in this timeframe because (male) soldiers would be less inclined to want to die for someone who never actually went to war themselves. The feudal structure depended on male soldiers to sustain it and feudal societies outcompeted all other societies to become dominant. If you want to change history and make it more female, this should maybe be possible through the right combination of technological and cultural innovations but you shouldn't just be able to flip a switch and change it. It's misrepresenting the past, just like the way it presents homosexuality (game messages mostly skirting around the negative way in which it was seen, at least in medieval Europe), and indeed the level of ethnic diversity found in the game. If you were living in the actual medieval world, in many places just having a single foreigner in the court from the neighbouring kingdom would be the limit of your diversity. The laws of Wales, where I am from, in the medieval period under the law of Hywel Dda (the Good) stated that a foreigner was to be automatically treated as a serf for the purposes of blood price until the seventh generation! This level of xenophobia simply isn't represented accurately in the game and random Eastern European peasants end up mysteriously at Western European courts all the time. CK3 should be historically accurate and portary medieval society as it actually was, not strive for greater "representation" of modern Western viewpoints.
So I changed the game rules to allow this. There’s plenty of other game rules you can change (like when Genghis Khan appears or the Hungarian Migration). It’s more to shake up gameplay because it’s a video game, and it’s fun to break the usual gameplay loop. The second you press the play button alt-history begins so why not allow the player more control in determining how the world? Also, this game rule makes it to where women are the martial leaders. When I played this I imagined that the women were the warriors, even when pregnant. A lot of the video was sorta just an extreme way of treating people in the Middle Ages. CK3 has many elements of goofiness. This was just a goofy way of playing, and a different vibe to what we’re used to in history - sorta like when you get nuked by Gandhi in Civ.
@@DaFloove Alt history begins - with the starting point of the actual medieval world at whatever start date you choose. Genghis Khan or Hungarian Migration happening at different dates to their historical dates don't alter the fundamental nature of medieval society culturally to make it like modern Western society for "representation" reasons. There's a fine line between fictional alternate history, which I'm fine with because that's the nature of this game, and fundamentally misrepresenting the past. Allowing feminist options on the menu isn't quite altering the past, since it still defaults to actual history (although I still disagree with it as below), but the positive, ahistorical in-game messages about homosexuality, unrealistic depictions of ethnic diversity, and representing historically transvestite characters as being the opposite gender, for "representation" reasons is. It's creating an absurd myth that society has always been the crazy way it is in 21st century Europe and North America and a few other outposts. Now, if you want to create alternate history, and create feminism in 1400, then I'm fine with that being possible, but it should be hard. This represents medieval society realistically. There were very good reasons why medieval society was not feminist, was male dominated, patriarchal, homophobic, and so on. Those societies won the battle of civilisations under the conditions of the medieval world. It was not because our ancestors were bad people and the institutions they created were evil.
You’re right. They should restrict modding too because fictional worlds like that in A Song of Ice and Fire have magical elements and that’s not a part of history! I love history, but I’m glad I have an imagination that allows me to play a game in different ways. 1. I guarantee you didn’t even watch the video because it’s pretty much all a joke. 2. Go and watch my “I torture friends for land” video. I like trying to play games in different ways than they were intended. Actually, historical video games should be banned because the only way to properly experience history is to recreate it. How about that?
@@DaFloove You're being ridiculous and attacking a strawman. Modders will mod the game, it is impossible to stop that. The only thing I expect from historical video games is to be faithful to history. I also question whether you read my comment since I clearly said I don't have any issue with them putting in ways of creating elements of modern Western culture into the game, provided they don't make it a normal part of the game, to reflect just how alien these elements actually are to real medieval history.
100% the entire game is just regular ck3. One of my initial MP video ideas was “give people tasks, while they’re busy with that I sleep with their wives”. I thought I was sooooooooooooo clever and then we played for the first time together and EVERYONE SLEPT WITH MY WIFE. This was payback
@crazyhercules9442 hell ya dude. If you’ve got 17 min today/soon check out the Secretly Ugly video. That one actually cracks me up. It was our first multiplayer vid, but I’ll probably never be able to top that one
@@embluhhh7449Let’s compromise and blame RU-vid’s algorithm! lol but this was actually a super fun video to play and to make. I hope you enjoyed it!
@@JariahxSynnohhhhhh gotcha! Her stuff is super funny. I have a theory that this video is now getting a lot of traffic because she is popping off lol. I could be wrong though; after all, I’m just a stupid stinky Ken man.
Hahaha I’m borderline shopping the idea of making a floove opinion on CK3. I think it would be nice way to reflect on EVERYTHING within the realm of this game. Shit, you’ve been with this channel so long that I’m glad to spill the bbeeaannzz that I will most definitely come out with this type of video and I started working on it today. It’ll be a different style from what I make, but it’ll be true to me; that’s what I think matters.
You have GOT to make a video on elder kings 2, it’s a TOTAL overhaul of the game, so unique and fun. Even if you don’t make a video. I couldn’t suggest it more. Edit: it is a mod, and it’s called EK2 often
Oh, I played the schmuckles outta that when it first came out. I’ve still never used magic tho. We planned on doing the first multiplayer vid using it, but it was about a year ago and multiplayer wasn’t working for us.
@@Thatonewebbyboi ohhhhh, easy conquest? Sounds like I can skip a bunch of warfare then 🦭 (warfare is boring as hell to view). How do I comment on warfare stuff “WHOA, CHECK OUT THOSE NUMBERS! LOOKS LIKE THIS GUY’S PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE!”. Thanks for listening
I have been figuring out how to show the final vid and how to finally finish the vid. I sorta have an idea, I started it, but I haven’t committed to it. Short answer: it’s coming out sometime, in some form, and its tardiness will be addressed Shortest answer: one day 🫡
@@DaFloove Alternatively, you need to pick pasta shapes (butterfly, elbow macaroni, spaghetti, etc.) and try to make all your borders match that shape as much as possible. butterfly needs to either remain an hourglass shape, or be connected hourglass shapes, elbow means all the borders need to turn 90 degrees every so often, spaghetti wants to be straight lines, etc. lol
