Hello. This one might help. The impeller is probably the most difficult part of the 309 service. How to Replace an Outboard Motor Impeller on a Mercury Four Stroke #tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AH6rGy3Qpfc.html
I'm taking the kayak out tomorrow off south beach. Been about a month since I've gone out but last time I got a 23" mutton about 150 yards off the beach.
Thank you! I’d look for a good current edge or color change anywhere from roughly 100-180’. Fishing near humps, wrecks, or other structure is good too. Good Luck, Capt. O
Thank You for the report captain! I have been trying to find pilchards this time of year and struggling. Do you have any suggestions for areas that may be holding them? Thank You and Tight Lines
You’re welcome. Pilchards have been scarce. My only suggestion is to try to chum them up around bridges or grass flats at night. Might be some in the reef at night too.
Hi Captain Muniz. What would be the best tide weather and moon to bottom fish wrecks and live bottom in 200feet. What bait would you recommend at depth thanks for your support.
Hey there Henry. I like relatively calm weather and a light to moderate current. Days leading up to the full moon are usually good. Best bait can vary depending on what you’re targeting but a pinfish is one of my favorites. Live ballyhoo and herring work well for muttons. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions. Tight Lines, O
Found some on the grass flats around stiltsville. Just anchor up, chum, and wait. Sometimes it takes a while. They haven’t exactly been thick lately. Good Luck, Capt. O
Shouldn’t matter as long as both the shifter and lower unit are in the same position. Sometimes the rod on the lower unit moves out of place and it becomes a bit of a PIA. If that happens and they don’t align, you’ll have to check their positions again. Good Luck, Capt. O
