Mostly to deal unopposed attacks without Clashing. It's also useful for dealing damage in case you lose a Clash, and stalling turns to fuel resources with Blue Zippo Lighter or similar Gifts.
@@kizaaam15 Understood. It’s just that sometimes in your dungeon runs, in a battle when all the opponents are stunned and you have no gifts to generate resources, you still put evasion/counter attack/defense in the entire chain, skipping a turn. That's why I wanted to ask. (Sorry for my English).
PM: "In turn of recent events, we have decided to tweak R.B Sous Chef Gregor's skills to better accomodate the game's balance and emphasize the difficulty of Mirror dungeon 4 - "Ritornello".
If you're playing IDs with Evade, picking Offense Level buffs is the safest option. Since they don't gain Clash power from Offense Level against Defense skills you can pretty much evade all their attacks. If you're playing IDs with Guard/Counter, then you'll have to play much more defensively (unless you're using K Corp Hong Lu/Dieci Rodion etc). Max HP up is the safest option to pick, Clash Power is a bit more riskier but you can offset this if you have strong Gift options like Sunshower, Imposed Weight etc. Try to avoid stacking Offense Level buffs as much as possible since not only will it make them harder to clash, it also buffs their overall damage as well, so surviving the first turn will be more difficult. Base/Final Power up +1 is a bit safer in that regard,, the extra Skill power is negligible as long as you didn't stack it too much. Lastly, don't get baited with strong Gift options under harsh Mounting Trials. Something like a Thrill under Coin Power +2 buff is never worth it since you're unlikely to survive the first turn anyways.
MD4 is so much easier compared to past MDs, since you can just select unloving or flat broke gamblers in first 2 floors and win thanks ti the op gifts, which are easier to get, thanks to the fusion, but hey, does it matter? Every solo is impressive, even if you select easiest route of all
I don't really like fusion for that purpose tbh. It's much more efficient to hoard trash Gifts to narrow the pool than using them as fodder imo. Tier 4 Gifts are very strong indeed, but strong Tier 3 or lower Gifts will net you more value in most solo runs. Besides, the Tier 4 pool is diluted with redundant Gifts these days (the Slash/Pierce/Blunt ones are dead weight in solo runs, Ancient Effigy just exists I guess, and the Rocks...aren't that great)
