Me, my wife, and two of my sisters were in Frankenmuth June 30th to July 3rd this year. We want to go back in the near future. One of my main reasons for going to Frankenmuth was to visit Bavarian Blacksmith Experience where I forged for the first time a railspike knife. BBE was founded by a Forged in Fire champion; if you've ever seen the show. His name is Josh A. Weston. Of course, we visited a lot of the shops. We stayed at Drury Inn and Suites. About two days after returing home from Frankenmuth, I started feeling homesick for Frankenmuth. That might seem silly to some though. Thank you for your video.
I see you have the same flexible solar panels, and I see you have the same chalking or turning white problem I have. As long as they are still working although can't be real efficient.
Not sure if you guys will see this, but they are opening a new water park this year, it will be Michigan's largest indoor water park and one of the largest indoor water parks in the United States. Might be a fun trip for you and the kids. It's at the Bavarian in.
I grew up in Huntsville. Twenty years ago, people would laugh at you if you told them you were from Alabama. Now, Huntsville is frequently touted as one of the best places in America to live. To a local, it's all kind of amusing. Huntsville wasn't THAT bad then. And it's not THAT great now.
We will be there for the month of July. We went full-time out of northern Colorado so we will be super excited to be back in Colorado for July-September 2024. Great review guys! We will be setting up our new Starlink as well.
We didn't have any issues with our littlest who was 1 year old at the time. Though she spent the whole visit in a carrier. Correction: she was only 4 months old at the time. Wow, time flies!
We've actually been doing more international travel lately. But when we're back home the solar panels are pretty much as expected. They put out about 80% of what they did when they were new as the whole setup is just over 4 years old now. Still no regrets with these Renogy flexible panels.
@@NeverStopAdventuring Thanks for the feedback. It appears we're like ships passing in the night as my wife and I have been traveling in Latin America and are gearing up for a return to the USA and a van build as we intend to split time in the US and INTL. Happy travels!
I love upper mesa falls its fascinating that the cliffs opposite the falls are several hundred feet high ancient cliffs made of ash called the mesa falls tuff.
We have a thirty five gallon black tank and a seventy gallon gray tank. Your black water dump method is great. But i'm not sure how to dump the gray water since it is seventy gallons. Do you think you could pump the gray water into the portable water bladder to then dump?
Thanks! Great video. I have a question, is there a way to mount these flexible panels, where they can be taken off if they have a problem, or just aren't desired anymore. The glue method looks somewhat permanent. Thanks..
If you're doing a travel video why would you not pronounce the name of the Island where you're traveling to the proper way? Mackinac..is properly pronounced MACKINAW! You could even hear the ferry announcer pronounce the island the proper way... MACKINAW.???
Carrickfergus castle was built by the Anglo norman invaders who built the first castles in ireland as they did in england before that it was just forts. Its true ireland was a number of kingdoms but there was a high king over all the other kings and one legal system
I ride the locks on the Mississippi in my canoe. It’s free and kind of fun. The most impressive was St. Anthony falls upper lock, but it was permanently closed years ago. The US Amry Corps is studying what to do with the locks in Minneapolis St. Paul. Since there is no more commercial barge traffic this far up the river, they are no longer used for their intended purpose. I’ll keep using them as long as they are open.
@@NeverStopAdventuring Well, they are free to use for the boaters, but they must cost hundreds for thousands of dollars annually to maintain and staff.
You obviously like to spend some time in desert climates and I assume Arizona is one. Do you ever camp at higher elevation say east of Phoenix? If so, does your solar generate as much power as down in the desert. I know it kinda seems the obvious answer might be 'yes'. I previously thought about this issue and to avoid heat, and possibly not even use AC, to stay at a higher elevation normally.
We filmed this in Arizona, but have traveled all across the country. Never noticed any difference with heat or altitude and we're still happy with the setup 4+ years into it now. Without wanting to run the AC you really can get by with a much smaller setup for sure!
@@NeverStopAdventuring That is very nice of you to respond, thanks so much! I put a note in the my master plan to consider getting power enough or upgrade-able to possibly add AC later. I also make sure to plan for plenty of ventilation.
You mentioned being eaten by mosquitos, which doesn't make sense to me since there were never any mosquitos in that entire region in all the years I used to go there (the mosquitos are further inland where there are a lot of swamps, but on the North Shore there's no stagnant water in which they can breed).
Yep, they were pretty bad when we visited. We actually visited inland as well and it was worse for us on the North Shore. Absolutely beautiful scenery out there, but going heavy on the bug spray was a must. Maybe it's better at other times of year?
We just mounted 4-100 watt flexible Renogy panels on the roof of our Sol Horizon. With the curved roof and the low weight we wanted something we could mount without drilling holes in the roof. We also have 2 rigid Renogy 200watt suitcase panels. So far they are doing well. We will see once we do our first trip off grid. With 800 watts of solar and a 300 AH lithium battery we should be good.
I have a 40 ft motorhome with 4,350 watts of solar, 15,360 watts of battery (48 volt system), and a 6,000 watt 240/120 split phase inverter. been running it for 2 years, in sunny parts of the US I save about $75 a month on shore power bill. Went boondocking out west for 27 straight days, only solar for power. System has been working good, I can run AC, electric hot water, heat pump, what ever I need on solar. The cost was $8k with no labor.
