My app doesn't show wheel diameter??? On the bike has it but it's in millimetres and it drives me nuts. 29 inch wheels is set too 2205mm but it's not precisely accurate. Anyone have a fix for this?
Skipping is usually from wear on the smaller cogs or chain wear. Box drivetrains are good and the set of small cogs can be replaced for $15 when they wear out.
The shimano link gluide is better i can replace small cogs as well and its shimano made for ebikes and the derailuer has a clutch to keep ur chain nice and tight l! The box is new brand with mehh reviews
Thanks for this. Please lose the annoying music track on such instructional videos. There are a couple of errors in the graphics. Such as thermal cutoff graphic when discussing motor direction setting. And saying not likely to use the firmware update… that comment hasn’t aged well. 😊
I will be doing a build with the Gen4 shortly on a 24" bmx style bike. I believe the biggest issue is the chain and rear cassette, but what do you do? Surely there must be a few Gen4s out there by now?
what about drag when not using power, is this a feature or is battery necessary 100% of the time. Reason for asking, is compatible for touring, use only when needed?
Great to see, CYC have clearly been working away at this (and other things) in the background. The app has changed considerably from the early versions available at Photon launch.
Great job Adam! Hope you are feeling well. I have three on order. Explaining that you can program the motor to the three riding classification is a real plus. Harold
Off the top of my head: how loud is the motor compared to the previous gen 3 (we're yet to see how loud this motor is as all videos featuring it so far have loud music over them!), also it's been said by CYC that changes were made to the chain tensioner, would you mind showing us what has been changed exactly. Thanks
temperature control is needed, since this motor has a propensity to overheat. I hope that CYC can get get a handle on this motor's overheating problem, as I would like to put it on one of my bikes.
