That looks amazing!!! We have been waiting and waiting for our fig tree and we just got a total of two rip figs from two trees, No worries; soon we will have plenty of them🙂
Do you know what grow zone you are in? I would say yes! The only factor is the humidity affecting the leaves and possibly nematodes affecting the roots.
Hi 👋🏽, great videos and wonderful figs from green house. I agree love my VDB tree, super productive. My trees are only two years old but my VDB is the earliest, even earlier the my Mt. Etna’s.
I rooted 15 figs this year and my Strawberry Verte was the only one that failed. Oh well. There's always next year. Congrats on persevering and not giving up on it.
Yay! My first year tree actually has a few figs. I keep hearing not to judge a fig taste from a first year tree. But I am not hating what's ripened so far on some other first year trees {shrug}
personally i dont think this is lsu gold because of the shape and inside color...but i could be wrong.... mine is very different. my fig is urceolado shape yours looks more turbinated... but yours does look really good either way... thanks for sharing
Cherry one is absolutely a treat! The Socorro is a significant/larger fig and its taste is definitely different. I plan to put BOTH in ground in the greenhouse because of their abundance, earliness, and flavor. 🥰
@@afig3539 I’ve heard so much about Socorro black. But I seriously need to start cutting back on buying more trees. I literally have no room left outside. Buuuuuut my indoor experiment with angelito has proven to be very successful so far, albeit very expensive. Same taste from the outdoor tree. So I might be able to grow more trees indoors. Do you have figo preto? I was going to get one of those.
@@afig3539 oh my geez I replied back to this like an hour ago. And I don’t see my comment. I should see it here right? This happens on your videos more than anyone else. This is like half a dozen times now. Once, I re wrote the entire comment (long one) and it also didn’t post. I gave up. Not sure why it’s happening. I’m not putting anything bad in my comments. Now I’m copying this in case it happens again
Well okay that one posted. I’m curious if you grow or have tried figo preto? I am literally out of room outside, so you’re forcing me into some tough decisions here. I also added that I’m doing an indoor experiment with an angelito tree and comparing it to my outside angelito. And so far, things are coming out very positive, albeit very expensive. So I might be able to expand my indoor operation. That opens up so many more possibilities. And I’ll make it more efficient now that I know it works. My first year tree from a cutting has about 40 figs and 7 have ripened. Keep getting better each time. I might be able to eat figs in the winter - IDK!
Omg, Ed! I got all your messages! 🤣🤣 I do have Figo Preto. It is delicious!!! Same as Black Madeira. I’ve heard Angelito is the one to get! So good that you have it. Let me know how it tastes - I don’t have that one.
I'm having a terrible problem with raccoons taking all my figs... Maybe in the future I will have an opportunity to have a greenhouse also.. your figs look so beautiful!
I do grow Calderona as well and I had 4 days with some daily rain (in total over 1 inch and I didn’t have any splitting issues. Yes the eye is a little bigger than usual but nothing like yours. While moisture in the air matters too I think you might need to get better draining soil.
“Let me pay more attention. Let me take another bite”. The ultimate quote. I’ve had about 20 minutes to go on you tube today. And I’m so happy it was mostly spent on your videos. Rock on!!!
