You made some nice upgrades. I pick up the same boat (2023) next Saturday. They have them marked down $2,000 right now at some locations. The shipping cost was $1,000 less at the Springfield, Mo location. I'm driving out to get it there to save some $$ as well. Did you have the factory cover? They want almost $900 for it. I bought one to go with it. I just wonder if it will be worth it. I see a lot if custom covers in the $500 range. Do you tow with the sc windshield attached or do you take it off? I heard some say they do, some say it doesn't effect anything.
Mine has factory cover it is very nice. I can trailer it with it on. Problem is it only 95% water resistant. Also I do trailer it with windsheild on with no issues. I bout it slightly used....all standard features are bare minimum but I'm sure that's to keep price down. May I ask what your out the door cost was?

I never did, extremely stable. I actually liked it so much thinking of getting another but Vibe never answers the phone so I dont know whats up, ended up getting something else, I would have bought another vibe if I could have bought one somewhere. Only thing I have seen with a higher weight rating is a Hobie. I ended up getting a WS A.T.A.K. but it is substantially heavier :-(
I've had 2 kayaks since the Vibe...at the time Vibe didn't have pedal drive so I have since moved on, they may by now. With all the features, storage, great tracking, weight capacity and stability...the Vibe Sea Ghost 130 is without a thought the best paddle only Kayak I've owned without question
I just put together the 40”x48” version. Instructions are not the best and they talk about the white ground wire by the coupler but not the white wires on the marker and tail lights. I assume the get connected to the frame?
Its been a few yrs but I do recall holes in the instruction, I pretty much threw them out and used common sense for a above avg mechanically inclined individual.
it looks like you have the malone kayak cart, i got one as well and have problems with the straps coming loose not sure why. are yours like that as well?

I've had cichlids do this. I think they are squaring up and trying to intimidate each other without the actual fighting. It wouldn't surprise me if they started fighting properly soon.

As mentioned by others remove the last pad eye closest to the rudder. It helps quite a bit. If you partially disassemble the rudder and spray lithium grease in the pivot points, the difference is incredible. Mine now requires very little effort to raise & lower.
Very nice Keith. This video sold me on the trailer. Unfortunately, after putting about 10 hours in to getting the thing together properly (instructions are barely usable), I found that the kits they are selling now show bolts that go into the spring hangers on both sides. This effectively makes it a non-foldable trailer.
Great use of it! I got here just looking for how to assemble one of these trailers. I'm pretty sure I've found a problem with their instructions - specifically when you go to attach the hinge plates to the side, the middle most bolts & nuts take the same space as the existing bolts and nuts holding the middle cross beams to the outside beams. Does anyone remember how they managed this correctly? (And safely?) I have backed those nuts out as much as possible, but looking at it, they simply collide and I don't see any way to get both the hinge and the cross beam bolts in place. Thanks! (And, I bought this two days ago - today the website says discontinued, so the reviews section there is gone unfortunately)
Looking at an old version of their website, it appears they started drilling the side beams differently - four sets of holes now instead of two. Perhaps they misplaced those, and that's why this is discontinued...
They also have you install a couple of bolts on both halves of the spring hangers - but that means the back won't be able to fold. Any idea why they did that? I see you don't fold yours, but was hoping to do that on mine.
@@ChristopherAshton Same problem here. Just returned to Northern Tool. The guy at the store couldn't figure out the issue either, said it didn't make sense. I would have been happy to be embarrassed by missing something obvious but he basically agreed there is an issue. I solved the side beam/hinge attachment issue you mentioned by flipping the bolts for both so the heads are on the inside of the rails.
@@ChristopherAshton You cannot solve for the bolts inside of the spring hangers through. Deal killer. If I can't fold it, I might as well get one a foot wider and get the 5x8 rigid aluminum trailer which is still a good deal. My use is for 4 kayaks plus utility for brush and such. Good luck Chris
@@robk5119 Thanks! I did make progress through there by just improvising some. Got to the end and they straight up didn't have the right parts for about 3 different places, but if you swap things around it all works out. Going around and torquing it all down to 55Nm since they didn't say how much to do. I'm only hauling brush and such on side streets really, plus maybe lumber on city streets, so I don't need the 1000lb load... but I don't want it to fall apart, either. I wish somewhere else sold a higher quality version of this but everything I see online is *significantly* higher price, and heavier duty than what I need (in fact, a heavier trailer would really limit being comfortable towing it). Glad to confirm at least I'm not missing something simple!
@@dennisdabney4314 you may wanna do a you tube search for the Harbor freight trailer assembly, I am not sure now, I am thinking I rand a ground wire to each light for a grond rather then just ground to the frame. Seems to me when I built it I heard of some issue with it. Ill look tomorrow and if I can better answer you I will post it.
