I listened to Johnny Most out of WBZ radio--on those nights when the signal came over to Michigan. These clips made me laugh out loud--Johnny was 100% correct about the thuggish Detroit Pistons.
We used to watch the games out East on TV (Cousy was a bit annoying lol) but we'd play the radio feed from Johnny, there were no delays, it was in sync. There were times we even wondered if Johnny was watching the same game! Lol One time he went off on Dominique and called him a "criminal" and it was a mid air tie up on Bird that could've easily been a jump ball! Lol. Dude was a legend!
The great Celtics legend john havlicek ran for 16 years.. his rookie season was cousys last..he said if you moved without the ball cousy would find you for a ton of easy layups
Fuck the pistons. I would ripped Bill and Rodman's nuts off and broke their grilles and Thomas too, if he wanted some. Im taller n badder than all em pistons. And would a took the hole team on. I don't be rollen like that
Wow does that bring back memories. I remember watching the Celtics with my father we would lower the volume on the TV and turn the radio on and listen to Johnny most with Glenn Ordway. I'll never forget the time Johnny most dropped a cigarette on his pants and lit his pants on fire and burned a hole in them during a live broadcast classic
I've lived overseas for a long time and lost touch with my Boston roots. Whenever I need to reboot my soul with my native blood, I listen to this and feel the Boston re-energize my veins. God Bless Johnny Most. I still get emotional when I watch the Bird stole the ball moment.
Bird stole many passes in his career, but not this inbound! That was the Early Bird whose name was John Havlicek. He was the model. Bird came along later, and was unique, his own man.
