Enjoyed your videos of your trip on MSC out of Brooklyn! I liked how you showed the menu and then reviewed what you ordered. Unfortunately can't control the weather - we once had to depart Bermuda early to get out of the way of a huge storm - it was so rough! Have cruised out of NYC area during the winter we always book the thermal spa for the week- gives access to indoor pools etc... for us well worth the cost departing out of a cold port because we are in there a lot. I wondered if they offered breakfast in the main dining room on sea days? Thank you for the overview of the process of departing from Brooklyn.
Thanks for sharing this information! Believe breakfast was available during set hours in one of the main dining rooms and it switched to a different one on disembarkation morning.
Looking forward to your videos on Japan…just came from your Msc videos, hope Will got a hug after that rope walk, I would have hugged him myself but I was laughing too much 😂
went on the same cruise last year. a large percent of passengers who spoke a different language were incredibly rude to the point that i will sail from florida from now on
Disembarkation... Self assistant.... Was the best EVER!!!!!!!!!! We got off in 15 minutes.... Smooth as anything!!! Much better than NCL which is very painful IMO.
We absolutely loved our recent experience 7/14. 9:30 embarkation, 45 minutes and in room with luggage before 11am. BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. We had no issues in the buffet. Yes around 10-10:30am busy but didn't go at that time. I thought lunch was fantastic. Lots of variety and not crowded at times I went. Absolutely loved that the buffet was open very late... And the pizza was amazing!!!!!! Booked shows day of with no issue even paid at Ocean Cay restaurant! This was my 19th cruise and 1st MSC. I thought this cruise overall was fantastic!
Such an in depth review! Thank you! Definitely doesn’t sound like a cruise I want to take, especially for the first time. If you guys didn’t know where to go trying to leave, I’d probably never get off the boat!
We tried MSC out of New York because of the price. We loved the ship, we hated the embarkation process, 3 hours. We hated a group of people that were rude and cut lines at the buffet. We loved Ocean Cay. We had no intensions of booking again but we are going to give them another shot because we got the deal of the century on an Aurea balcony suite with a hot tub for the same price of a balcony cabin plus 200.00 onboard credit and the drink package all for 2100. I can deal with a few short comings for that price.
It’s all Europeans, the most rudest people to be stuck on a cruise with. Not all employees speak English and the ones that do it’s very hard to understand.
We stopped by a few times as we typically enjoy these meet ups. Seemed like a good turn out but we didn’t end up spending much time there on this sailing.
I'm so excited about this cruise and the beautiful island.😮 I will be going in october for my 50th birthday. October 19th. For all you awesome libra's out there. This will be my second solo cruise.
Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Terrible food, poor service is what I've heard Only interested in looking after Italians. They banned some You Tubers filming on their ships and treated them horribly
Thanks and thanks for watching! We actually have a video coming out this coming Sunday to talk about that very question! Plus we’ll soon be announcing our next cruise!
Sorry you had 2 days of rough seas, but I'm sure there was enough pizza in the oven to keep you all satisfied in there, haha! Great video - enjoyed this one - glad to find your channel tonight!
I just got off Quantum of the seas last month, my wife said to me "I miss MSC". Msc ships are beautiful yes there's issues but crew and specially dining good. Meravigia and Magnifica so far. World America inaugural cruise next.
@@Davey7358 Hey Davey! Yes we went 6/23 thru 6/30! I could have done without stopping in Nassau and would have loved to spend 2 days or more at Ocean Cay. It was the highlight of the cruise for me!
It is very casual in my opinion, a bit too casual at times There was a "Gala" Night but not many people participated. I guess White Night could be considered dress up.
At 14:10 that’s my daughter and I 😊 This was our first cruise. We had a fairly good time. Unfortunately she got sick with a 103 fever after Nassau. So we spent the next two days in the cabin, we missed Ocean Cay. The staff was absolutely amazing though. My daughter has severe food allergies. Our head waiter Uma had all of our meals sent to our cabin since she couldn’t leave. Our cabin steward Jayson made her extra towel animals. We’re going back again in November for a “re-do” lol. The weather for last two sea days were brutal 😟
It is beautiful however style is subjective and we found it lacked personality. A bit sterile but first impressions when you walk in are certainly positive!
We do like a bit of nightlife but did find the nightlife to be a bit lacking. There are theme parties and the like, but in terms of an upbeat club , there was nothing that we found to be up the alley.
This cruise line is crazy, if u ask 10 different people you’ll get 10 different answers on how good or bad this cruise line is! I want to do a Halloween cruise out of NYC! So I have a choice of the breakaway From NCL, the Venezia from Carnival and of course this ship from MSC! By far MSC is the cheapest, for seven nights, one person inside cabin with Internet and drink package less than $1000
I was on an MSC cruise from hell last April on MSC Divina; I was supposed to have a $200 onboard ship credit. I showed the customer service desk staff the paperwork and proof I was owed the money. The staff did nothing and didn't seem to care. If that had been the worst thing about the cruise, I could have lived with that, but it wasn't even close to being the most significant issue. The cabin next to mine was full of cigarette smoke that poured into my room under a door that the two cabins shared. When I complained to guest services, they did NOTHING. When I went to the buffet on the 14th deck, other folks around me and I saw people smoking. I complained to the staff who did NOTHING! Thanks to the entitlement of individuals who smoked, I got sick with a sore throat, my nose was clogged, and my eyes got red, which ruined my cruise. NO ONE, and I mean NOT one staff member on the MSC Divina, cared. I met a woman, a nurse from Germany on the cruise who complained about the stench of weed she smelled on her deck. NO ONE CARED. I saw an elderly man with Parkinson's disease complain that he had asked for a cabin for disabled people when he booked the ship, and the room was unacceptable. He left the cruise early without compensation because no allowance was made for him. The food on MSC Divina was awful, from runny eggs for breakfast to a steak that could have been used for a hockey puck. I had paid for my laundry to be done. The staff held it for more than three days, and at 10:35 p.m. the night before disembarkation, my laundry showed up - it was too late to pack it and place the luggage outside my room correctly, so I had to drag my suitcases with me during disembarkation. There were good things about the cruise. The first would be disembarking from the ship. I couldn't wait for the cruise to end. I admit the cabin was nice. I had a deluxe balcony cabin. However, I couldn't enjoy the balcony because everyone around me was smoking on their balconies. I WILL NEVER AGAIN EVER CRUISE ON MSC.
Sorry to hear of your experience but thanks for sharing. When it’s nice to have options it’s unfortunate to have to eliminate one due to an experience like yours. Hopefully some happy cruising in your future!
The weather sure looked crazy the winds are nuts on those poor ships. The foods you two had looked delicious, I have not looked at many MSC cruises because of many of the comments and what people like you two who have been on those ships have experienced.
Yes, in most cases we actually enjoy a bit of weather, but not when it interferes with the itinerary or activities we’re interested in. Yes, unfortunately the reviews are so mixed, and our experience was definitely no exception. Some good, some bad but overall a week away. You’re right, the food in the main dining room looked pretty good and like many other things on the sailing there was nothing particularly bad and nothing particularly good! Thank you for watching our videos, more coming soon!
Getting ready for our third Cruise on the Meraviglia this August. Beautiful ship at a reasonable price. Weather can always affect the experience but I highly recommend getting away on this Ship. Meraviglia-class cruise ship
Too bad for the ending of your cruise. Not a pleasant experience! I am booked on the Meraviglia for December, but I’m going back and forth about canceling. It just seems like an ordeal to get to and from the Brooklyn terminal. (I usually cruise out of Manhattan.) Very helpful video and I look forward to your review.
The risk of trying anything new but I’m sure your experience will be different. It’s the inconsistency with MSC that seems to be a factor. We’re trying another “new to us” cruise line soon so let the excitement continue! Thanks for watching!
I would cancel the cruise. My experience on an MSC cruise was horrible. The food was inedible, and the shows would make a junior high production seem professional.
Greetings from Brooklyn New York, recently I was on that same ship on a 7 day cruise to Canada and my girlfriend and myself also noticed how rude some people were on that cruise, we would stand on line in the buffet restaurant and people would just get in front of us to get food without even saying excuse me and as we would try to get off the elevator people would just rush in without giving you a chance to get off!
It’s unfortunate but I guess if we can’t control it, can’t let it ruin the cruise. Although in our video coming out tomorrow you’ll see we had a a few more encounters to “tolerate”. Thanks for checking out our channel! 🚢
Hey guys. Great video! we're boarding the Meraviglia in BK tomorrow for the same itinerary you did. Picked up a lot of tips from your Ocean Cay video that I added to my to do list 👍 Seems like you cruise about as much as we do. Hope to see you on a future cruise. Thanks so much!
@theseanmaxson thanks so much! We are sure you’ll find something to love about Ocean Cay, was certainly a highlight of this cruise. Yes, maybe on a future cruise! Give us a shout over on Facebook or Instagram! Thanks for watching and have a great cruise!
Thank you and thanks for watching! We are positive travelers but want to bring things as we see them so it’s fun trying to find that balance sometimes! Next video comes out tomorrow and it’ll be an example of how interesting that balance can be! Cheers!
What you do at the buffet is you get a table 1st then you go get your food. I never understood the logic of people walking around with their food. Looking for a table. Get your table put the silverware down put a glass of water down and then you get your food and you know where you’re sitting.
I don’t know what your problem is with the buffet. I was on the ship in January had no problem with the buffet. If you go all the way to the back, they will always tables there with a smaller buffet back there. I love the ship so much I’m going on in August October and December.
Glad you enjoyed and had great experiences but unfortunately every sailing and everyone’s experience is different, this is just ours on this sailing (and we weren’t alone). As we showed, we did find tables at quieter times which was a welcomed change! Enjoy your upcoming cruises! 🚢
