In this episode we visit MSC's private island and marine reserve #oceancay in the #bahamas !
This pristine island features over two miles of white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, offering a variety of activities such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking. The island is designed with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and marine conservation, featuring a dedicated marine reserve and coral nursery. You can enjoy a relaxing beach day, explore nature trails, visit the island's spa, or enjoy one of the several beach snack shacks or buffet.
During our visit, we first bring you up the 100 foot lighthouse for some amazing views of the island followed by a walk around all the various locations including #bimini beach, #sunset beach, sunset bar, and the various beaches surrounding the lagoon.
Unfortunately our kayak excursion was cancelled due to winds but it was a beautiful day despite the wind (sorry for the occasional wind noise in this video!)
The highlight was the evening lighthouse light show which was a very unique event in the world of cruise line entertainment! We give you a sneak peek toward the end of this video.
It was then back on board for Caribbean night in the main dining room, followed by a production show called #thejourney in the main theatre.
We also receive a warning from the captain about some pending bad weather which we will cover in an upcoming video.

Hello There, I enjoyed this video. Thanks for showing the Beautiful Beach areas and the Light Show. The beginning of your video going up the lighthouse was cool. We filmed in Bermuda and Traveled up the Gibbs Lighthouse. That one is 185 steps up and gets really tight at the top, to go outside on the edge you have to go through a tiny door. It was crazy fun and scary all at the same time. Thank Goodness for the resting Platforms. Was there a cost to go up to the top of the lighthouse? Gibbs Lighthouse was just $2.50

Thanks for checking out this video. Yes it was somewhere around $12 to book the climb up and that included the guide who gave a history about the island etc. along the way.

@@OnaCruisewithWilandStephen Thanks for the information. I actually interviewed the Lighthouse keeper who has been there since 2000, and he gave me all the history on the lighthouse. We paid $2.50 each to go up to the tippy top, and the T-shirts at the giftshop were a bargain at only $15. If you ever cruise to Bermuda and enjoy lighthouses, this one is well worth the climb. It ran twice and we want to say it was at 9:30 PM and 10 PM. It was just before all aboard time and our sail away was at 11 PM.

Buffet and food trucks are included but believe there weee a few purchase options as well. Lots of included options and if it have a drink package it works in the island as well.

Thanks for checking out our videos. For most planned outings and tours we use a Sony A7 IV. When on the go, mainly just our iPhones (currently iPhone 14 Pro).

Can anyone climb the lighthouse? Is there a cost? The dinner portions look very small. Did the meals fill you? 🐸🐸

Yes, the lighthouse climb can be booked ahead of time through the excursions and was about $30 USD. Agree. The portions were a bit small in the main dining room but you can order additional at no charge. We were fine with the size but certainly took advantage of the bread!
