My dress form, by Singer broke where the neck hole attaches to the dress form pole. Any ideas on how to remount it? I could just buy a new one and still have to pad it. Ms. Mani Kin has been with me for over 50 years. Perhaps i should retire her?

goodness, I would have abandoned that skirt pattern in favor of just cartridge pleating, since this isn't representing a specific region or anything. but I applaud your grit for keeping it! the pleating tape is genius
Thank you, I would probably do it without the pattern if I did it again. I tried to use this pattern as a review as well as how to adjust it for plus size alterations too. I was not going for a region but for a gnome cosplay so I didn't research specifics.
Sorry no, I have stalled out as our local SCA group has crumbled and have no where to wear the completed out fit. It sits on my dressform waiting to be completed.

I spent several years in Germany, and I always wanted one of these dresses, but I could never afford them. Thank you for showing me another way to get it.
What kind of boob support is there in these? Because I need some kind of foundation garments otherwise I have to roll my girls up to put them in my bra because I am postmenopausal and when I did have my babies I nursed for five years in a row so they are basically like empty pastry bags now that pointed the floor and I am going to need a village to lift it.
I spent a lot of my focus on my British side of the family but I have not done any of the German stuff and that's actually my predominant ethnic background. So I will be following this!
None really, I have large breasts and I need a supportive bra. There is no built in support in the overdress or shirt, but you could probably add some, either with to top lining, use a strech material or in the overdress add some boning, but this is more of a comfort dress for me, trying for less corsets for the upcoming weekend.

Congratulations on becoming the Dean! Do you guys have a location yet? I feel like I heard that it moves around each year? Also, I imagine you sprucing up your gown to match a different era's style standards is a lot of what women of the past did too. Grab mom's old gown, put some new sleeves on it, put some new beads on etc. Very true to history 😅 glad you made it through the beading though!
