This issue isn't signing an older player, the issue is signing an older player to a big contract both in terms of per year salary and contract length. You give Paul George a contract that starts at $50 mil you will not have much wiggle room to fill out the rest of the roster with quality players. And let's not even get into the injury history on top of that.
I would like LeBron for a season to try and win a championship. I would use a first rounder on Brony to get him. It would be like giving up one first rounder for LeBron. He could help Maxey and the young players a lot, he could help Embid also.

No disrespect but you got your facts mixed up about that Jimmy buter trade . The sixers were forced to trade him because he already let them know he wanted to be in Miami . He was not going to resign with the sixers . The player they received was an afterthought as compensation because they traded players and draft picks for him .
This is how you can make the sixers a better team without the over the hill gang of old all stars. I would go and sign Miles Bridge's 26 years old and gives you 21, 7 and 36 percent three point shooting. Go and trade for Corey Kispert he shoots 38 percent from three 13 points a game, and I am sure it won't take three first round picks. Get a back up big, it's plenty out there. Sign Tyus Jones and sign Kelly Oubre at a reasonable price. What ever I have left, add more long athletic players to the team. I'm keeping Ricky Council. This is not rocket science, the star hunter seems to think so.
Obi Toppin would be an excellent fit next to Embiid. He’s a younger athletic player on the rise. He can make 3’s from the corner block shots n get some highlight dunks to energize the team n fans. He’s just a piece to the puzzle but he fits. That would still leave enough ammo to possibly trade for Bridges All that is moot if we can sign Lebron. Even at 39 he’s still better than any 3 man we’ve ever had. Name 1
