I’m found this right now on a Cervini’s hood that I score for free because it popped up on a run. So far it’s come out ok but it was trashed. Sanding down the four colors of paint on it to find out it had previously had three separate holes on each side for hood pins. Which I’m guessing they never used.
I'm in the throes of installing Patriot H10160 pipes on my 74' L48. HUGE point of departure from the "norm" in my case, since I couldn't afford Side Exhaust headers.... I bought Hooker long tubes... Sooooo ended up buying that tube kit where you come off the (3")collector, and then so a 180 back toward the front, then a 90 pipe toward the sidepipe. The issue here is, there's way too much pipe for the short distance you need to get from the sidepipe, to the 90. ALSO, the size needs to go from 3" Chrome 90 sidepipe outlet, to the 90 2.5" pipe that comes with the hookup kit. Sooo I'm having to do two pipe cuts, and adapt 3" to 2.5" 1) I shaved some off the 90 pipe coming off the 180 pipe... and installed chrome adapter 3" ID to 2.5 ID 2) I'm about to shave off the Chrome 90 That's where I'm at. I haven't yet done any drilling, or hooking up to the frame yet... My goal here is to get the pipe as high as is possible , so it doesn't have that lame hanging too low/catch on everything in the road look.... PARTS: The adapters I bought were off Amazon: SSN Exhaust Pipe Reducer Component Adapter 2.25 Inch ID to 3.0 Inch ID Polished 304 Stainless Steel Universal ID 2.25" to ID 3.0" The pipe connect kit, I got this kit: "Speedway 2-1/2 Inch Side Pipe Exhaust Hook-Up Kit", but I got it for super cheap somewhere. I forget exactly now where... Headers: Hooker Headers Competition Header Part No. 2456HKR Feel free to ping me to ask questions, offer tips, etc.. RICH@GOUETTE.COM
It's hilarious how long I've had to search to find a source on where those vent hoses go for my own MR2 2ZZ swap. Thank you for making this video! It was very helpful! 🙂
Actually have one of these rare kits. Any recommendation on the car? Having issues from the car being in the Rust Belt and the Peddle is causing "runaway throttle" and cannot find a replacement peddle. Any recommendation will help keeping the remaining 180- Mini Marks on the road
Great job with that hood.. would it be possible for you to tell me the materials you used to see if I can pull this off on my hood please. I don’t want to buy another hood I rather fix the one I have and mine looked a little like this one
Wow! Very impressed with your work and skills. Dang, she turned out great. Just one question please?????????? Before the single stage, what type of primer did you hit it with?????????? Thanks for sharing! Semper Fi and much Love and blessings to you from Motown/Dearborn.
I am currently doing this on my 73 Vette...to reduce the Ride height you need to put in Longer Bolts at the end of the leaf spring....Mine stock were 8" I have 10" on order from Van Steel that will lower the body so there is less of a gap
Just buy a Weighted shift knob for 40$ I feel bad for these beautiful and rare cars that get getho ass upgrades. Just keep it OEM or buy quality parts if you want to keep their value and preserve the few MR-S that are left. Just my 2 cents.
Does the MR2 have a hill holding clutch? I had a manual trans. '80 Subaru & it was nerve wracking whenever I was uphill with either a stoplight or stop sign. Of course drivers behind would (inevitably) pull up right behind--just about kissing my back bumber.
Hello, when you said your car has had a lot of interesting issues was any of them low rpm’s during idle that would make the car have misfire CEL and shaking?
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning vehicles any more....:-(( (BABVVEN AND TEBBVEN)!!
Super helpful. Glad I can get under and not have to take off the taillight as in other directions I saw. Did I hear right that you just tightened it, didn't torque it?
Also found out you are not supposed to use bondo on fiberglass because bondo and fiberglass swell and shrink at different rates. However. The car look great! Good job.
I did the razor blade to our C3(1978) and it took me 6 hours so far. I only have the hood, doors, t-top/door jams and under the lower body line on the front clip to finish. Paint came off like butter.
