We got this for the toddler room ru-vid.comUgkxdzUap46p9ViXhKZf5mK_bXOb89EHxTqq because of the bladeless feature. Actually has a lot more power than I thought it would. Can still feel the air moving well 6 feet away, which is farther than I would expect from a desk fan. My daughter dropped twice and still works. I haven't checked out how long it lasts on a charge yet, but the air output was still good for the few minutes it was unplugged. My daughter also likes the color lights feature, but I don't really care for it and can be annoying to go through all the options before it turns off. Overall, happy with the purchase, especially for the price
Great video. But the vortex is not created by the difference in airpressure. Its created from the excess force you get from having the air travel inside a loop. It travels the same distance shorter. MAGIC. excess force is pushed to the sides and creates a force vacuum which is in turn createds your toroidal loop. Hence the vortex. and the great lift
How would you steer? With a central intake you can't increase airflow to a fan, only restrict airflow with a valve. Also the rotation of the intake would make the whole drone spin unless you add a counter spin somehow. If it worked it wouldn't be very high performance.
You Wana do it reverse like 4 turbines outside sending air inside as Dyson style etc. SpAce on middle can be bigger in diameter etc. I believe it will be better design. I have few UFO style in mind that will definately worth asking upon.
Nice one. but the torque at the center keeps this drone keep rotating. you need to find a way to cancel out the torque in order to fly stable as conventional drone does.
I don't see that prop holding up to the rotation that would be needed, and if it did surely it would deform. With the tight tolerances needed to make this work any deformation of the prop would likely seize it up or outright destroy the thing. At least with the possible weight savings you might get away with a metal prop to resolve the issue of deformation in the short run, however I still think the speeds needed to achieve a usable device would likely lose any benefits from possibly going to this design. Would be cool to try though.
Bladeless is false. They still use turbines to generate the air flow. So this was be thrust. And the effects of the boundary air that pulls more air through would be minimal since thrust need force upon a structure to move it. Why do you think bladeless fans dont just fall over. The only benefit would be that the drag on the fins or whatever the rings are could. Would be reduced. But you wont lift a pack with it.
Your idea is brilliant. Right in front of our faces, and no one thought of it. One thing though. Don't use Dyson in any of your ads. You may not hear anything now, but if it really starts to sell. They will take you to court, and you will loose. Just call it a bladeless drone. Or something that it reminds you of. Stay safe. There's greedy people everywhere. 🤔🤔🤔👍😎 Idea just came in. You know those vacuum cleaners with the strong suction. The ones that can hold a bowling ball. Well reverse the flow, and see what happens. If it works then all you will need to do is to get it to go in different directions. That's just for now. If I do come up with more. Just look at the comments. 🤔😵💫👍😎
Thank you so much for your comment and suggestion! I have since realized that this design needs more changes/upgrades to be effective though! Thank you anyways..
*This fan is everything I wanted in a desk fan and more. It looks great for **Fastly.Cool** my room , it puts out a wonderful amount of air. Is very easy to use.I just keep it plugged in.*
A regular drone use the side thrust from four propeller to change direction, two of them spin reverse from others make the drone fly statically. This design using only one propeller to compress air, so the gyro effect will make it spin and swing around. The idea was really good, but the compressor must have two propeller spin in opposite direction to void the gyro effect. Therefore , the speed of each propeller must be controllable, we can use the gyro effect to control the direction of the drone.
Remember something similar in an Australian patent from the 80's, that didn't work. But now the Dyson tech was better developed, who knows? Try and build one.
This technology was in use in at least the 60,s where working in any enclosed space that required serious ventelation, such as a fuel tank, was ventelated by a compresor blowing air through a half venturi ring that resulted in massive airflow. So dyson did not invent this effect, he simply used it.
gonna need to gimbol those ducts to fight the gyroscopic torque of tha impeller. That, or put a contrarotating impeller in there somehow to counter it.
I'd like to see a proof of concept working model rather than just a CGI video. It has been about 2 years since yu posted this video, should have had enough time to have created a working model. One other company has. If you make it I will buy it. It doens't have to be an electric powered turbine at first, perhaps hydrogen fule cell or even gas powered motor to turn the blade. Perhaps a circular tube isn't the best solution, how about a rectangular tube and use a box wing?
