I was genuinely shocked when I saw the thumbnail as it I use the exact same fire escape shelves! But you really blow it away with the posing! I'm going to have to try some of that..
Do you have a Cull Obsidian BAF series Black Knight the Bucketed helmeted one was an evil Black Knight and original member of Master’s of Evil, Mister Hyde is also a member now we need Trapster, and Skurge the Executioner a comic accurate one.
In this display I am using a mezco stand, sometimes if I am using a hanger stand, I will try and port the stand into the back of the figure. It does take some balancing skills and a LOT of patience, but I find the results to be well worth it!
Yeah I get happy when my bf includes me in his hobbies so I was excited to see one of my fave toy collectors include his gf in his hobby it’s a tiny sweet thing that makes the relationship rlly strong, interest in your partners interests
I am very honored to be ranked among some of your favorite collectors. To your second point, I love sharing my hobby with my gf. Doing what I love with my best friend... nothing beats it! It really does strengthen the bond. Thank you for your comment!
Gambit and colossus look so clean! Would like to see you attempt making a diorama base for this display!. Would be easier too give the look of kitty to phase
I would like to make a little diorama base for this group. I would start by acquiring some of the toy biz sentinel bases and working around those! Thanks for watching!
I like how you mix the figures to set some action poses and scenes. They're awesome. But I especially like how you would use the clear invisible woman figure and add it to the Mezco set, especially attaching the invisible head on to the Mezco figure. That's the exact same idea I had if I could afford that set. Because most of her figures have her half invisible and yet not at all invisible, which in my disappointment is unfair. Even false advertisement. I mean She is called "Invisible Woman" which means she should be invisible in battle as the Human Torch is full fire body. I have been wondering, wouldn't the invisible head fit on other invisible woman figures? Anyway, great video.
For the ice slide cut it in Half have the bottom coming off the floor starting from behind the figure’s remove the wooden pole in front place try and place it in the middle of the side for support then try and use the thinnest fish wire to hold up the front making it seem as ice man is ascending you may have to use magnet’s in ice man’s feet and slide to hold him fast to the ice slide, a little ice effect coming out his hand creating the ice slide wouldn’t hurt ,lower Nightcrawler under the ice slide and change his Bamf to a more ethereal effect try colored Purple Pink and Black swirls of cotton balls blended stretched and thinned with him in the center of the Bamf and Maybe a BAMF sign at the base of the effect to give the sound illusion and use the same fishing wire to have him hanging off the floor, Professor X needs to be more straightened up There head direction needs a more focused focal point like there looking at.
This is great! Love all the ideas here! I have been wanting to reimagine the BAMF effect for some time, and now I have a good starting reference. I definitely will end up making another ice slide, as I have been given some great input and ideas! Thank you for your comment- lots of great stuff!!!!
The display looks really fresh, I like how you are constantly changing things up to add some spice. Not sure if this would help for some ideas but I like to pose my Nightcrawler just slightly above the team right in the center with a BAMF effect. I also have Kitty phasing out of the side of the shelf (which I imagine it as a wall), with her body slightly turned to face the front. I also agree that it's a little hard to find more poses for Rogue as I pretty much have her in the same pose since day 1 haha.
I agree!! This was version 1. Now I can improve. Some comments pointed out some key characters I need to add. So once I do that, I may re attempt the ice slide and make multiple versions including yours! Thanks for the comment!
Also wanted to add that Iceman’s pose is cool, however the other knee should go up and the one up right now should go down. When you run you tend to put your arm out opposite of your knee up. Doing such pose in real life would mess with balance. Other than that, always love seeing your work:)
Love your work. The analysis of posing is very interesting. I reckon if you could make the ice slide more dynamic, launching from the ground and more closely encircling the group that’d be rad. Thanks for sharing.
If you want some criticism before I listen to your girlfriend's opinion. I think ice man and night crawler just look so separate from the rest of the team, like they almost look like they don't even belong in the same display. Also cyclops' effect doesn't look like how I've ever seen his optic blast look. His is almost always a more flat wide beam with very little flowing effects around it. That effect would be great for an iron man or most other blasting characters, just not cyclops
My reference for the Cyclops optic blast actually came from the Bendis era X-men when his powers were unstable and he would unleash a passive output. It certainly is not the norm, I just find it to be more visually stunning than the normal flat wide beam you mentioned. I may try and make one that is flat and spruce it up a bit to add a little flare.
@thewallopinwebsnapper ah okay. That makes sense. I'm not a fan of modern comics so that would explain why I don't like it lol. Your poses are on point like always though man.
Since the table is black paint the pillar black and the use a rolling type of black pvc to curve around and under it. As for Nightcrawler you can just make another portal to put in the area your gf was pointing at with a figure stand to give it movement with his teleporting.
If you're worried about Storm balancing on the styrofoam you could try using a cleaned out jam jar turned upside down to provide a sturdy, clear and cheap stand.
If you have any villains I would recommend putting them on the side to balance everything out but honestly this is one of the most creative and cool displays I have seen
I like where you are heading. I usually make my own display for them, I had some comments talk about some characters I could add in to fill out the space and I agree there are some gaps in the collection!
Amazing display as always. All the custom effects are phenomenal, the posing on Gambit, Ice Man, Colossus, Cyclops, Beast, Psylocke, Wolverine, & Phoenix particularly stand out. My only gripe is the large amount of negative space from the wide ice slide which you pointed out. I know you said you might make a smaller one but I would just add more people to fill the space instead, specifically I would move Nightcrawler to where your Gf recommended, add in Cable, and then put Angel where Nightcrawler is but that’s just me. Also think to spice up Kurt’s pose you should get/make some swords for him to hold, you could just make 1 but he’s seen with 2-3 a lot and in my current display I have Nightcrawler holding 5 swords because some fan art inspired me to do that so maybe try out different amounts to see what works for you (for the 5 I have 1 held by each foot, 1 in each hand, & 1 held by the tail, I specifically have the 2 in the feet forming an X and then the 3 on the upper body forming a rounded triangle around his body). Also for Kitty it could be cool to have her phasing through the Hover Chair behind a character to show her playful side but don’t take my word for it I don’t even have the figures to test out these ideas. One more thing, I like Wolverine & Colossus’s poses but if you ever want to put them in a different pose when you get bored of this it’d be cool to have Colossus holding Wolverine ready to throw and do the fastball special
Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. Love the insight. Also, I love the input for Nightcrawler. I was least satisfied with his pose so thanks to you, I can tweak him to look more cool!
@@thewallopinwebsnapper no problem man, again I don’t have all the figures to test my ideas so I have a lot because I have a vision for when I get them, on a separate note how did you choose who exactly goes into which displays? Neither your X-Men nor Avengers teams reflect any specific era so I just want to know what went into picking who went in those displays. Is it just who you like the most? Is there a specific time period you want to represent for Comics? Is it just what looks the best?
Thank you for pointing these out! I was never a diehard X-men fan, but I have been getting into it more lately. I definitely will be trying to track them down!
Curve Ice-Man's slide in more and exchange AXM Kitty for Excalibur Kitty. Make that Styrofoam base into a rock. Rocks and sentinel damage parts could enhance the realism.
