That avengers display is looking neat . The new Hawkeye will definitely look cool there . When I used to collect legends I used to fill the pin holes with sculpting clay to make them pinless
Agreed! I can’t wait to get my hands on that new Hawkeye. And wow that’s awesome. I don’t think I would have the patience to go and find paint that matches each figure.
I have a less normal collection as i am just getting started but i hope they look good when i set them up. My avengers will be looking like, Ultimate Cap, Herald Thor, Gray Hulk, Black Widow (her sister version), Iron Man (Mark 20 when it arrives), the new Luke Cage/Iron Fist pack, and Tom Holland Spiderman (no affordable comic Spidermans available at this time). And the Xmen 275 collection on the side.
You are right! That is a "less normal" collection. That is the beauty of it though! You get to create your ideal version of the Marvel Universe! Happy collecting!
So I use 3 types, but mainly the thin white ones you see are metal coat hangers that I cut up and bend into the stand you see. The clear ones are either the ones that come with mafex figures or revoltec. And occasionally a mezco stand.
Amazing displays as always! Wired cloth capes simply can’t be beat when it comes to overall aesthetics. I’ve converted all my plastic capes to cloth. You should also look into converting all your lab/trench coat characters like Lizard to fabric. Makes jumping and crawling poses look sick.
I appreciate the kind words! The effect for Dr. Strange, I bought off of eBay. I looked up action figure effects and came across it. I definitely recommend it as it really brings the figure alive. Thanks for watching!
I like your displays! I have purchased wire capes for my 80th Doctor Doom, for Doctor Strange (same cape you got), and for the new Knightfall Batman figure from McFarlane. I'm not at all a fan of the heavy rubber capes, and Thor is next on my list to upgrade, alongside Cloak, Moon Knight, Vision and Scarlet Witch. I have no idea what you might be planning for the FF, but maybe Doom's Time Platform, or if you're super-creative, the Fantasticar! lol. My guess would be the Time Platform. Seems like an easier way to go. I've always wanted to do the Negative Zone screen room as a backdrop, complete with images of the floating rocks and a few flying creatures zooming around on-screen.
PS: I am a professional illustrator who has worked in comics on and off. If you google image search "Loston Wallace" + "The Thing" you will find an image of ol' Ben Grimm that I drew with lots of FF related heroes and villains.
First of all, yes the fantasticar! ( I also love the time platform for doom… I’m gonna have the look into what that could look like too!) So far the hardest part is getting the seats worked out. I pretty much have everything else so I can’t wait to get it all together. But yes! Glad you’re going to the wired capes. Although with Doom I feel like I need a cloth skirt to help with leg articulation. I need a lot for the villains tho, such as taskmaster, magneto, Loki, grim reaper and I’m sure others I’m simply forgetting lol
Thanks man! It may seem weird but I definitely put in the practice and effort to get good at posing figures. I like to make sure I’m getting the most out of every figure in my display and making sure I encapsulate the essence of a character in a pose! @@cheesywheesy14 for display stands I use metal coat hangers that a cut and shape which you can see in any display video that I have. I also like the use the mafex stands but… those obviously come with mafex figures which are pricey. I’d go with the metal clothes hangers tho. Search 1/12 figure stands on Ali express, Amazon, and eBay. I’m sure you’ll find some there. For a classic Spider-man, check out Ali express and get a bootleg of the mafex classic spider-man. If you can’t get the real one, I’d go with the bootleg. It’s really good, falls apart sometimes but is usually an easy fix. I’m glad I have it and I would use that if I didn’t have the authentic one. That will cost about 22/25$ which isn’t bad considering marvel legends cost about that much without the sculpt and articulation that bootleg has. In the “I’m back video” you can see how I have spider-man fighting green goblin on the wall, that figure is the bootleg if you wanted to see how it looked. Hope this helps!
My buddy keeps saying that… and honestly it seems like next to mafex everyone is saying sentinel peter is the 2nd best 6 inch Spider-Man figure. Idk where or what I would do with / put him. But he’s definitely on my radar!
