Nice to meet you. I've been chatting about zero waste, plastic-free and organic stuff for several years and as a result, wrote the book called Six Weeks To Zero Waste. My husband and I recently launched our own produce called Bottlecup - a 2in1 reusable water bottle AND coffee cup! Find it here at: www.bottlecup.com
I and have dabbled on RU-vid for a while now, starting out with weekly fun roundups of Made In Chelsea and later writing and hosting BBC America's Angolphenia and before that I worked as a TV presenter (MTV, Disney, CBBC etc).
I moved from London to live in Cornwall with my husband and son.
Watching this sent me down a rabbit hole of reading about textiles, chemicals and microplastics. And I'm grateful for it! Also, with my daughter staring school this September I've looked into non polyester uniforms and there is a brand called EcoOutfitters that offers organic cotton options 💚
Thank you so much for this easy recipe it really works. I loved the helpful method of making washing soda. This is going to save me a lot on wash machine expenses. ❤
See i keep seeing stuff about washing soda which is the same as soda crystals , that you’re not meant to put it in your machine because it ruins your machine so has anyone got a soda crystal free recipe? …

My babies are now 8 and 6 years old but I still watched every second of this video and will watch any other baby/toddler content you put out. Also congrats on Bottlecup! Fantastic design.
Lovely video! I used the hakaa a lot as well. Really easy to use. I used way more plastic than you, but it is handy to see how you reduced the plastic.
"they are silicone but come in a little plastic..." silicone is also "plastic". I learned that quite late. Just like the glue of a gluegun (and also wood-glue, probably most glues). Fleece is plastic. (That are are all plastics that I somehow didnt think of as fossil)
silicone is not petroleum based. it is derived from silica. lower quality silicone can definitely be mixed with things like vinyl, which can be an issue, so sticking with medical grade platinum silicone is a good idea especially if you're using it for food or a sensitive area (like menstrual cups or adult toys). also synthetic fleece is plastic, yes. real fleece is wool, a fleece is literally what comes off the sheep when it is sheared.
@@kitssewingkit There is not ONE silicone and there is not "pure" silicone. "Vinyl" is a different name for PVC. In silicone you can find different vinyl groups, not PVC. To produce silicone, methane(and for some types petroleum) is used because you need carbon. But yes, the main ingredient is not fossile - but to get it the silicon dioxide needs to be heated to 2100°C to melt it. Silicone is not recycled, its burned.
Ordered all the ingredients, definitely didn’t get a powder just a fizzing popping wet mass! Is this safe to use please 🙏 why did mine do this? I see the review below is similar! I’m presuming theirs went wet too? 😮 I’ve just gone back to the wet maze and it’s a solid lump now, this is like a chemistry experience! I’m now able to break it up into a kind of a lumpy powder now. I’m guessing it will be fine to use?
Ive seen the babee greens before but never tried them. They actually remind me a lot of the motherease with the fold down. I couldnt afford to buy the babee greens though plus were going to have two in diapers next year so need even more than we would with one baby. We use mostly esembly now and used prefolds in the first several months on a preemie.
What about AloeVera gel straight from a half pealed leaf to shave and to also be used as aftershave with no industry, no shipments, no trading warehouses, no farming, no banks and no invoices, no marketing campaign involved. Only a domestic plant in a vase at the bathroom window when it is freezing cold and somewhere in the sun when it is good season. It is also very effective against skin burns and skin irritations, hemorrhoids, it can be eaten as immune system booster and (green parts, stings) as a powerful laxative against constipation. It is a very robust and frugal plant, it requires low water, it reproduces quickly by cuttings. And produces almost no waste in the garbage. It is a Win Win Win plant.
Hi there, Just to say I really appreciate all the work that goes into your videos- I find them really inspiring and get so many great ideas from them. Please keep posting- you’re one of the few reasons I watch RU-vid!
Thanks for the video! Would love to see a video on low waste eco summer essentials for the family. I've got a one year old and struggling to find a child safe UK based refillable sun screen! :-)
Thank you for your useful video I too don't touch any products with Titanium Dioxide either. I always love looking after this beautiful planet by recycling and staying away from any harmful chemicals. I am always willing to try different non toxic products at reasonable prices. Thank you Kate again for your useful video. Pretty please do more. 🥰🥰🐝🌱🌿☘
