I am your new subscriber. Nice approach. If you give an example with a sentence, please give to all the words in the lesson. It will not make the video much longer, yet it will be more complete. Keep up the good work! 👍🍀🙏

Are the double "L's" in gallina pronounced as T's? Also, are Pollo and Gallina interchangeable? If not, what's the distinction between them (I have a pet chicken called Mrs Featherybottom. :D
@DreamyLuke
@DreamyLuke День назад
Pollo is used for young species, and gallina is the adult. The double L would be something like Y pronuntiation. So think of it like gayna.

If I may, we wouldn't say 'a' bud luck. We would say, "What bad luck". ;)

I'm back for another listen. I already know how to pronounce most of the rules around J's - like Loch Ness - I'm Scottish so that J in rojo comes easier to me than it will to the English since they don't have the 'ch' (Loch Ness) sound in the English language. The 'ci' pronunciation was new to me, and the two 'll's' I also knew. I'm also learning that Duolingo doesn't pronounce 'Ciudad' correctly, they always say 'see you dad'. I've joined italki to speak with native Spanish teachers, but I think many of them are from the far side of the Atlantic so they'll have their own variants of Spanish there. I'll look for someone in Spain. I had an interesting flight to India on one of my many visits. I had a Spanish couple sit next to me and they spoke no English and I only knew how to say, "Lo siento, no habla espanol" _ I didn't even know if that was correct lol. We had forms to fill in; birthdays, how long the visit to India was etc, I was having all sorts of fun with them explaining what they had to fill in lol. Love your videos.
@DreamyLuke

Thanks for your comment Stan! The correcto way to say it is "No hablo Español" Yo hablo Tú hablas Él/Ella habla Nosotros hablamos Vosotros habláis Ellos/Ellas hablan I will make a video on conjugation soon brother!

For me, the most interesting use of the word acordar is when it is left unsaid. When someone asks you simply, "¿Estamos?", they're probably asking you if, "¿Estamos de acuerdo?" It's strange how Spanish speakers usually leave de acuerdo unsaid but a pro would ask the question, "Are we in agreement?", using just one word. ¿Estamos, @DreamyLuke?
@DreamyLuke
@DreamyLuke 5 дней назад
And that's just one of many other strange expressions we have here. Maybe I could make a list of these and put a video on.

It's not "far away in your journey", @DreamyLuke. It's "far along in your journey". Far away in your journey would kind of mean the opposite of what you're trying to say. It would mean that you have a long way to go in your journey yet.
